Well trying to dodge things will kill your DPS further.
You shouldn't have to deal with things like that tbh, I noticed you are on the same server as me and you have no Free Company, I would recommend looking up my FC The GDT Reaper's we have a lovely bunch that are usually able to help out with lower content myself included, as you know its the pre exp lul and not many people are about but I'm sure if you get in touch we can organise something.
Totally agree.. so now all the weight of the fight is on space classes. No one blames when a healer wipe the party "sorry I get lag" or "sorry I moved and heal get interrupted" ... Also tanks "oops I wasted provoke" or "sorry I couldn't get that add" ... "sorry I couldn't provoke in time the boss" all thidea answers and more are just fine.
Now.....
If the add didn't die fast.... *party gets enrage* and:."dps is too low!" *using parse* *tell everyone dps * ... *disband party* Lol
Dafuk? Hahahaha
Not true, bad tanks are vote kicked all the time, as are bad healers.Totally agree.. so now all the weight of the fight is on space classes. The problem is if your lazy or bad your 95% of the time going to go as a DPS because its the lazy role.
I do NOT agree with that at all. DPS ain't no lazy role.
Dps to meet non progressive checks is. Gear makes the mild checks moot. I personally believe raid mt is the easiest role in a raid though. Hence why call out etc should fall upon them.
Now hard working dps? Progression groups where healer dps is not required.
Ya'know there was this feeling I was getting for the last year and a half of playing but I just couldn't put my finger on it... But I think you nailed it.
DPS are seen as disposable by a lot of players and it really starts to wear on you. Back about a month after hunts came out I was running to Vogaal Ja and shouted for an invite. Got into the party and what did the healer do? Sneered about another leech joining the party and informed me that anyone who wasn't a tank or healer was just a leech. I was startled and hurt (yes I know, grow a thicker skin) and apologized and told them that it was my only class because I was lazy and hadn't leveled anything else yet but that I would try to do my best.
I am always happy to hear how I can do my job better. I go out of my way to consult 'known-goods' on my server to see what I could change to improve my performance. If I'm not 100% confident in a fight and I'm the only stranger I'll ask if they saw anything they'd like me to change to fit their party's strategy more or do better dps; and then implement it the very next run through.
I play BLM because I like it. But sometimes I just feel like crap because that's how this game treats dps (and mages especially[in glamours, males and mages]).
Oh nice. Thanks for labeling every single DPS lazy then, with that definition(not much progression left in this game. Very clever there Lina.) Being considerate is a lost art in today worlds so I guess you never stopped to consider that maybe there's players out there that work hard as DPS regardless of the "mode" they are playing in.
So we're gonna start this Tank/healer vs DPS, bullshit now?
lol you're basically admitting that outside of dodging things, there IS something else that's killing your DPS. What is it?
I haven't raided as a black mage since 2nd coil but I thought the blm's school of thought was anticipating attacks (and its types) and minimizing movement while still actually dodging attacks and producing dps very close to your standing numbers and NOT using mechanics as an excuse for not meeting the minimum dps check.
