DPS is too slow guys! (OMG!!!)

The problem isn't their failure but in your way of dealing with it. Cheer them on, encourage them. I often use [Let's do it!] and cheer emote. I tank alot of coil in DF and most of the time it ends in failure. But if you cheer and encourage. You might be pleasantly surprised how much harder they try because they want to appease the Karma Gods. If it doesn't work, oh well, queue again.

As a DPS, I disagree with this. We don't need to be coddled; if our DPS isn't sufficient, just say so. That should be enough to prompt people to step up their game, and if even that isn't enough to meet a DPS check and the DPS are all meeting the ilvl requirements, then it's time for them to take a good hard look at their rotations.

What if it isn't DPS that is the issue? What if it is mechanics? You can't be expected to explain mechanics during a run. Shouldn't they know it before they go in? Especially in DF right?

The only fights that have any sort of significant DPS checks that can't simply be powered through with gear are EX Primals and Coil (and Odin, but that is just "don't stand in the bad"), and yes, I absolutely believe people should at the very least look up a guide before going into those because the mechanics are more complex and take much longer to explain than just a dungeon or story mode Primal.

Even in most of the EX Primals and Second Coil, adequate DPS can be achieved with just a half-decent rotation. So either the DPS are REALLY bad or OP is talking about Final Coil, where you need to bring your A game as a DPS.

But regardless of any constructive criticism. DF is not the place to have an opinion. If E'Lusana was in a PF or in a FC then I would agree with that kind of encouragement. But they did not state where or when this happened. So my best assumption was in DF, probably in Extreme or an Expert Tier dungeon.
In which case, it's best to keep happy vibes and keep encouraging positive outcomes. Telling someone how to do their job (even if they suck) won't help. (Usually doesn't) Unless they asked for it.

I did Step of Faith yesterday, and even after having the nerf, and hitting all 3 dragon killers, the DPS only managed to kill him as he was ramming the final part, it was just too damn close, that's even with me and the other healer DPS'ing with cleric stance on.

I wouldn't have said anything but these guys, it was 2 BLM's, a DRG and a NIN, they all had augmented ironworks/dreadwyrm, i was the lowest geared as a SCH (only il112)

Hold up, what? Were cannons used at all? When I did Steps a few days ago, Dragon Killers weren't used at all and he only made it up to the explosive barrels.

Yeah, the cannons were used, i know..it sounds ridiculous, i can't work out why it was that bad myself...

I mean, you can use a cannon and just fire at a wall or something.
