to me it looks open world.
to me it looks open world.
I think it's open world, like the elite areas in AION
Kaidan HQ and Kaidan Mine as example
There are enough unused areas in Eorzea which SE could reserve for big beastmen strongholds

I'd love for these to be the equivalent of Davoi in FFXI. Entire city zones for NPC's. Imagine a city the size of ul'dah populated entirely by enemy beastmen!
Fighting your way through respawnable mini-bosses to open gates. and then the final room boss could be an instance. so each group that shows up has to pop the door mobs, victory and move through. until you reach the final door and fight a mega boss
This method allows all the areas in between to be open areas that you can grind in!
Yeah this, an open world city, with places for grind partys, quests, nms, and in the depts you can enter an dungeon wich is instanced. I'm thinking this would make interesting open world content, but I guess we have to wait for someone to clarify... ONCE AGAIN. When will they learn that we need important details like this?
This could be very enjoyable content if SE takes the correct approach, and by correct approach, I mean make it as rich and expansive as the strongholds of FFXI. Include content; questing, variety of new beastmen, roaming and stationary "guards" so you can't sneak by, interactive objects, unique scenery, and unique loot.
