I believe that there is a translation mistake in the reddit thread that is causing confusion about the MP draining Darkside DpS stance which can't be used in Grit Stance and the MP Expensive effect boosting Dark Arts buff that can be used with the Grit Stance.

Yea in the subcomments OP refers to Dark Arts as having the passive MP drain.
I think people are getting the 2 terms swapped. Understandable, too much Dark prefixes.
Sounds like from that article either Power or Spin Slash leaves a DoT on the enemy called Scourge
And there's another DoT/Debuff in the form of a ground placed AOE.
Mmm
edit:
Were they suggesting that DRK may be the first class where following through combos to the 3 finisher may not be always optimal <_>

Darkside is a stance that continuously drains MP that (may) increase the damage of your attacks and allows you access to skills that can only be used in that stance.
Dark Arts is one of those skills that consumes MP to buff your next skill such as making your defensive cooldown have more damage reduction or adding HP absortion to Soul Eater and Abyssal Drain.
New info was released today that implies that Darkside can be used along side Grit.

Interesting because originally THM had a skill called Scourge that dealt damage to a single enemy but reduced the umbral resistance to those in an AOE range.
Reduced Magic Defense incomming?

Hmm, is unmade long ranged and spammable? Back during my progression, my group tanks bahamut at where he starts and as the OT I would drag away the phase 2 adds to where the party starts. Since my whm had agreed to curb himself from blasting aoe heals until I'm running for the edge, I didn't have to prep any enmity combos, just provoke > tomahawk spam and mitigation weaved in with no fuss.
If drk's only 'ranged' move is to plunge in then some fight might need a different approach. Not that that's a bad thing..
I remember seeing a couple articles talk about a ranged magic attack to start pulls with so i assume its like shield lob/tomahawk. as for if its unmade no ideaHmm, is unmade long ranged and spammable? Unmade would be that ability. You can also see it in the HS ability preview trailer just before the gap closer is used.

im pretty sure unleashed is the AoE and unmade is single target. not like its a huge deal since we'll find out for sure in 20 days

I do hope they've given the DRK skill names at least one good lookover for localization. The multiple dark names are going to be mind-numbing if not.
My life while tanking is an existential hell from which there is no escape.

Unmade is a ranged ability that uses MP and (last I heard) has increased enmity on it making it like Shield Lob/Tomahawk.
