Yep thats true. On the other hand i am sure that the new frontlines gives out much more exp so it will probably get easier to rank up then.

I think that is a certainty, actually. Even PvPers will need to level up and relearn Jobs to some degree. At least they seem to be aware of that and addressing it in a timely manner though. Can't quite remember where I saw it, but they had a slide detailing Heavensward release, with Alexander being a few weeks behind release and the new Frontlines map (which I hope has Flying Mount access, because paratrooper Ninjas needs to be a thing) a few weeks after that. So we'll have a lull while everyone digests new content, but at least they've got a better plan of action for the release of the new Frontlines.

It was the PAX slides, I think? But the timeline is set so new FL map is going to be out at the same time as the 'hard' Alexander mode and the new Esoterics tomes which will be sometime in late July or maybe early August.

Imo it's worth it. I was kinda scared the first time I entered frontline and died like 7 times (only ilvl70ish). Nothing to be afraid of. As with any duty, just say yuo are a noob. Most people tolerate noobs as long as they are honest about it (and don't go under ilvl80).

As of now I find PvP more fun than PvE in this game. Doing dungeon farming quickly becomes boring. PvP, even though it's the same maps, is pretty different each time. Unbalanced, yes, however I've somehow learned to view that as a challange.

PvP in this game is well worth it if you like that aspect of gameplay and FFXIV in itself. Admittedly I never played Secure that much, but the Wolves Den and Slaughter I find enjoyable, it's not perfect but it's not lacking in a big way and I could see future updates really bringing it forward. Aside from PvP specific actions (skills) which are there for you to customize to your liking it actually makes some of the basic class skills useful that you'd hardly ever use in PvE and I think that's really cool, ones like Fluid Aura (WHM) One Ilm Punch (MNK) and Freeze (BLM), these really give a sense of being able to play in a tactical fashion with some variance.
The only thing it lacks right now imo is a variety of arenas and perhaps another gamemode or two, I could also imagine there being more features like specific stats recorded or more niche PvP specific challenges with rewards, fingers crossed with Heavensward just a few weeks away ^^

Meh. I tried it out a fair bit, it's pretty boring.

You wait up to several hours for a 10-15 min aoe clusterfuck and "not in range" errors as an european melee player (gg canadian datacenters), plus the fact that two factions can team up to gank yours is super stupid.

The whole "3 grand companies" design is retarded from the get go anyway, that's why the queue times are atrocious.

That, and the fact that some classes are waaaaay better than others in this mode.

Also, the big lack of incentive, unless you strive to get a barded horse or a boring flying black ball, or maybe some of the fugly armor sets lol

No wonder nobody queues up, I think I'm gonna let it go as well, mostly cause I hate that whole "not in range" bullcrap as a melee european player.
