/busy is not good enough!!! Can we please have /anon!!! for those alone times :)

I know this is a MMO and by that I totally get its social. And I do truly enjoy being social but not night and day. Sometimes I just want to login and enjoy hanging out with me for a bit. That's not to say I don't want to go raid or chat with my newest fc member. Or help a new player out in town that is just seeing Eorzea for the first time.


Recent RMT tell spams have gotten so bad and we all know they are just using the search option to find us and spam tells. If I am in full social mode sure I'll take the good with the bad and deal with it. But, If I am looking for my alone time /busy is not fair. Sometimes even when i'm alone I truly am not really alone and I get that.

It's for those times when a tell still needs to get through from a friend or someone in need. /anon would server two purposes if implemented correctly. It needs to hide my complete character from searches and second, it needs to still allow me to receive tells.

That's it. This is really all I am wanting for atm.

you just said that there are times you want to be by yourself. You can't be by yourself if you want to receive pms/tells from some FC members or friends.

Create a custom chat mode and get you and your buddies a linkshell. In the chat mode, shut of everything but linkshell chat. Turn on /busy. Problem solved.

What would be awesome, is if they would allow you to edit your status while in a dungeon / raid. I can't count how many times I have been in CT and forgot to shut off /busy and they initiate a /readycheck. /facepalm

there's an option to temporarily disable your chatlog, but that's the best of it.

But then he would have everyone in the LS read the personal message aimed at only one person. Problem's not solved.

My concerns are yea I do have those times I truly want to be alone. But I am never too busy to listen to a friend or someone in need. Getting rmt tells left and right along with random friend requests is very annoying. A friend is gonna see your online in their list and of course someone in need is usually that person you standing next too that says "hey can you help me out rq?". You guys get the gist. Anon is a way to block myself from those searches those RMT do while affording me some option to keep chat lines open. Custom linkshells is not really always an option but I do think they are ok for sometime. Let me ask this. Why do you think we need the ability to search on someone 24/7 in a game we spend most of our time in DF or PF running content with anyways? If those players you want to find are already friends then you have other ways to find them out. A search option just opens us to one specific thing, Harassment by RMT or whoever decides to abuse it.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with an option that makes it so you don't show up in player search.
