Linkshells vs. FCs

Why are linkshells only 128 players while FCs are 512? I feel like 512 for an FC is way too big perhaps 256 is a better number. Anywho, I think linkshells should have an increase in the number of players. I think it would promote overall more community which the game needs and it makes more sense to have larger linkshells.

I support this... It would be so much nicer for race social linkshells and hunt linkshells.

Nothing wrong with the FC cap. I see no reason to lower it really. My FC has about 400 members (We hit cap a few times, but removed inactive players) And it's quite active. (Roughly 2,000 members are assigned to our website) Yeah we have maybe only 40 "regulars" but for example, one of my friends doesn't talk much in the FC, but he says he just loves reading our chitter chatter while he goes about his business.

I can understand your reasoning though, but I don't really approve of them lowering the limit. Besides, I've seen plenty of FC's with just 4 or so members, and that's perfectly ok too I don't see how having the extra slots is impeding on their community value at all, so why take it away from FC's that do use it?


Linkshells we use mostly for overflow, hunt shells, raids and spoiler lore discussions. An increase in linkshell size would be nice though.

EDIT: Also...just think about housing for those smaller FC's....there isn't even any plots available as it is!

Only change i'd really like for linkshells, is to be able to see when members last logged in, and maybe spot to put a short message at the top of linkshell page, for organizing events/raids/etc.

Although I wouldn't say no to larger ls member cap.

No, the FC size must be reduced to about 200. After that point, you are just adding strangers. For LSs, it doesn't matter that much as they are for the exchange of information.

Not even close. People under certain flags wish to be together, even if they don't always talk to the other 500 people, the people they talk to may speak to those they don't. 512 is actually too low for some FCs which have certain types of people join.

They could be used for much more if they had the same size as an FC, you could band different FCs together without the need to drop your "label". 128 is extremely limiting as compared to 512.

As such, the group is not cohesive and fails to work properly.

What does it matter to you if they are just strangers? Nothing. Therefore, you have nothing to oppose.
