Pony farming

I ignored the pony farming in the beginning, i rarely do stuff trough PF at all. But since my raidgroup only play twice a week right now and when we do its either savage or fcob farming if we're missing someone i figured i'd give this a shot to kill some time between raid days and also to farm poetics. I was planning on tanking it to get the achievements but realised early that i was more needed as dps or as a dpsing healer due to average dps in pf groups being lower then when we first did these fights to farm i90 acc/i95 weapons etc.

I'm at 4/6, all of them from PF with levi and ramuh left. After doing ~200 levi's with no luck it still amazes me how bad some players joining farm groups are. Normally its just a couple of <200 dps that's getting carried (and wins the ponies that drops ofc) but yesterday we had an i130 paladin that didnt say a word (he was french), stayed on the head, ignored adds, ignored orbs and used hallowed ground on the first whirl thingy, luckily the WAR realised this and adapted. but if you're decked out in full (poetic) i130 gear and join an farm group how is it even possible to be so clueless. After some bathing this paladin then left the group and still never said a word.
Shiva was the easiest one to pug for me, might just have been luck with groups though.

Overall it's been a bad experience, there is way to much carrying in these groups and the language barrier on EU-servers makes it a lot worse. I really wish that they would make french-only server(s).

With that said, once in a while you come across a good group, normally with an base of 3-4 ppl that's in the same FC. This often leads to a completly different atmosphere and successrate, its almost... fun to farm then.

I haven't been lucky enough to find any parties that actually farm the instance until all 8 people get ponies. And since I always roll like crap, I'm usually one of the unlucky ones who doesn't get a pony before the group disbands. I did about 70 clears of Levi EX before I got the pony. But they were at least good parties. I only left one party because they were not actually capable of farming.

Was farming levi for the AXE damn fricking AXE for my collection around 150 runs lost loads of ponies but mostly bc farming via DF.... got last week pony with FC clear for a member... 2-3 runs after I ran with 2 friends my daily "farm" aka one clear and got my axe I CRIED!! (and it was only 2nd time in all those runs the axe dropped at all)
Now only axes I lack are Rammy n Dreadwyrm... at 120 rammy clears so pony n shortly after axe inc :S (Took me alone 40 clears to get first rammy loot n 60 + a friend that only lolheals as coheal to get healring back then) tell me sth bout odds....

Yeah I actually got all of the Levi EX weapons (and five mirrors) before I got the pony. It makes you wish you could select how rng is going to be nice to you. I keep getting Triple Triad cards from dungeons I'm trying to get Zodiac drops from, wish I could be like "Instead of TT Cards give me Zodiac drops". That's rng for you though.

Yeah the TT card is the levi thing I'm still missing after all that HAIL RNG
And managed to get 3rd set Zodiak drops finally.... avg 10 runs/drop \o/

sae multiple shiva ifrit and ruda ponies last night..couldnt roll higher than 38 except one time where someone else rolled 88. I wanted to flip a desk

But im not gonna lie tho i felt capable of doing a ifirit pony farm... the guy set it to i115 and I kinda got salty for awhile but i can understand to a degree why.

Honestly, with Ifrit, setting a high ilvl sounds like a terrible idea. More than once, I've run into overgeared groups that just can't seem to understand that Ifrit, you know, kills us all if we push him to 9% before clearing the nails? You know, Ifrit's most basic mechanic, that even level 20 Trial Mode Ifrit wouldn't let you ignore?

15%: Uh, nails...?
10%: Okay, well, good to see you're working on the nails now. Shame about those dots on the boss, though. This isn't gonna be pretty.

Another 5 hour ramoo pony farm last night. Saw a good few people get theirs then the party inevitably split so I have to start again. I didn't roll above 35. :s <huddles in corner>

I'd say it's a mixed bag. I've read farming horror stories, and I've been in one or two Ruda farming parties that were awesome - like we were a well-oiled, single machine.

FC mate was recently in a Garuda farming party that was downing her like water. Single healer setup - burned in roughly 3 mins or less, each go.
Wish I coulda gotten my BRD in on that happiness :< lawl (I'd logged in after they'd joined it. Boooo)

I've seen a Farming party where in a single fight at least each tank and dps died at some point.. Then someone started rage quitting even tho the player died on their own.. It's a shiva pony farm where in the the description said that everybody gets a pony but the party maker decided to party disband everytime he saw someone not up to his standard then reinvites his friends and players who were up to his standards back to the party.. Then after a few fails and wins, he suddenly said that he'll reformed the party and kick some players to get his girlfriend and friends in, be the pony dropped or not.. No whistle dropped in any of those fights.. I really feel sad for the other healer who left politely..

On another day, i joined titan pony farm as a tank, while the party's dps were bad, 5/8 stayed until everybody got a pony..

Finally was able to obtain Levi mount, 2 nights ago. What was more shocking than receiving my final horse was winning with a 67... I always had to roll 90+ for the others, and then still, someone would've rolled 1 higher. -.-

Back to topic, I created a temporary static party for Ramuh so that all 8 people would be able to obtain Markab (because whether you're in a JP or EN server it's the least likely to succeed in DF). The party itself is amazing (though a little shaky to begin with, it's Ramuh xD), but irl time schedules conflict and 2 people still need the horse (feeling super guilty they don't have one yet ><).

Usually PF on Ifrit is really good. Mostly anyone who joins knows exactly what they're doing, especially EX trials. Though sometimes you run into an odd occasion where 1 or more people make too many mistakes they will apologize profusely and respectfully leave after 2-3 wipes (JP server, might be why).
