Pony farming

The title of this thread speaks for itself. I just wanted to ask was it just me or does all of the pony farming parties nowadays seem to end up failing every single time in PF? I\\'ve held +50 parties and people either rage quit, carry a bonus, don\\'t know what they\\'re doing, blame people who are actually doing things right, etc. I\\'m not calling people out, I just feel like these farm parties aren\\'t what they used to be. I haven\\'t been able to get a single pony from any primal since I started farming EX, not even Garuda or Ifrit which are pretty much the easiest ones in my opinion. Anybody feel me?

Right? We went into DF last night at 5/8 or 6/8 and got a WHM that was on their first clear. We told him what to do but he still insisted on dragging Searing Wind into the middle of the party several times, killing a few DPS. We limped through the fight and just barely cleared it... and he rolled a 95 on the pony. Somewhere, RNGesus is still laughing his ass off.

I just recently got my Kirin. The only advice that I can offer is to be blunt about what you expect from party members upon their joining. If you're in an awful party don't be afraid to reform. It's always a good idea to be fair to people because you will probably run into the same people if they are actually capable of pony farming and people will remember you if you loot and scoot. I just went 20 Ifrits in a row without seeing a pony drop. Forget winning lots; can't even get one to drop.

Just got my first pony ever last night (Leviathan Ex). DF attempts were utter failures or at least 3+ wipes per clear. Made a PF with the help of a few wonderful folks from a LS I'm in, we got it done probably 15 or so times and only wiped once. Had a blast, most people got ponies early on until Leviathan started being stingy towards the end of the party.

So unless this party was an exception to the usual, no, most PF groups down it. Our PF wasn't even the typical "know the fight or be kicked" type, and we still walked all over Levi.

Edit: And just to be clear, we had 4 LS people in the party (including myself). So half of the other people were pickups from PF.

Yeah...if you don't have any luck with DF (like me), it can't hurt to try PF. Good luck on your pony though! I love ocean themed things <3

On Jenova I've been able to join only one or two successful farm teams through pf. They always seem to have at least two or three people trying to sneak in under the radar. Or people that cleared it once and think that makes it farm status. When you join a Shiva farm and it has 5 dps who cant burn the adds down in time despite being full 130...

Tbh, I have much better success rates with DF parties. That or LS is the way to go I think.
