    Even if I LOVE the idea, and I would kill to see it implemented in FFXIV.... I rlly dont want to get any kind of hopes on...


    They took a WHOLE year to implement just a chocobo (A mount that every single MMO has... even the cheap ones)... now imagine if they were to implement your idea... it would take ages...

    Well, they have promised chocobo breeding (in 3 patches or osmething i think it was?) We will most likely need some stables, then just adding the stuff Konata said should work. Having breeder as a class is a great idea, this means you can choose to train chocobos over time like you would have done with any other class. Too bad we get personal chocobos before we get the breeding xD

    Hmm, maybe another idea would be to be able to buy a "chocobo egg" trait for gatheres after having done the tutorial about breeding, then we wouldnt need a new class. With the chocobo egg trait we would get a chance of harvesting chocobo eggs from nodes, the easiest one to get from would be botany of course. Mining would maybe get you ancient chocobo eggs, with different forms and colors from other stuff, from fishing we could find eggs at the bottom of the sea, they would be good swimmers ^^ (when that comes out)

    It did occur to me that being able to breed chocobos immediately would make it a little too easy to get hold of one to ride around on, but then I thought when you're only a level 1 breeder and get your first chocobo to ride, it would only be able to run very slightly fast than your base run speed, like only 10% faster or something and it'd take a while to get it's run speed up more.

    If anything your first few chocobos would be mostly a cosmetic/fun thing to do, it wouldn't be till you started to hit around level 20+ that you'd have a chocobo that'd have a significantly higher running speed (like 50%+). This would match other crafting classes where the first stuff you can craft is mostly level 1-9 and can easily be outlevelled, and some time and effort is needed to get it high enough to make stuff that would keep up with how fast your battle class levels.

    @ Arlekiel: Mostly the reason chocobos took so long to impliment is because they've been over-hauling the entire game as well as adding content. Once they've finished fixing the game up around 1.21ish, we'll be seeing a lot more new content being added as the dev team can focus on making the game bigger instead of trying to make the core systems work properly.

    And yeah it would be a lot of content to add, which is why I thought it'd be better to add in as an expansion pack. A patch that had all the stuff I mentioned in would be like, 2-3gb or more which wouldn't be very good for players who don't have fast connections.

    They have already mentioned in the past something about a system that will let us either breed or raise chocobos and maybe even sell them. I don't know if that idea got thrown out the window but hopefully it did not.

    I really enjoy your ideas. I've only read through it halfway (you really did put a lot of effort into this o.o!) but so far, I love it. Your idea of chocobo breeding gives the DoH/DoL jobs a new purpose.

    Kona- I like your idea, but I would like other stuff to be implemented first... like more stats. I could see this as more part of an expansion pack.

    Yeah it wouldn't be something I'd expect in the super-near future but was just something I thought of that perhaps the devs could consider further into the game to add diversity and more stuff the players could spend time doing.

    @Msariel: These are the kinds of things that pop into my head on a daily basis. Most of what I wrote was thought up on-the-spot as I was typing. If I was to type out in detail all the job and class ideas I have the forum would be packed full of them XD

    I refrain from doing that though so I can come up with an idea that not only has a great deal of detail but can also fit into the games lore and mechanics. as such even though I came up with a design for a class I'm about to type up called 'Reaper' I held back from creatign the thread for it untill I had it's operation developed in a way that fits in with the lore.

    As for the sig, thanks It took an hour or two to make in photoshop and a lot of time spent messing with the camera and taking screenshots in-game to get just the right poses for the characters. Ren's pose was especially annoying 'cos the initial screenshot was taken as it was switching to night and looked kind of dark, but then suddenly the lights in Gridania came on and illuminated everything so I had to take the screenshot again XD

    Well, if there was a Chocobo Breeder Class, there would be way more Chocos than adventurers to ride them so be prepared for the consequences:

    Hot Chocobo Wings: ACC +5

    Chocobo Cordon Blue: INT +5

    Lemon Glazed Choco Breast: VIT +5

    Konachi Fried Chocobo: STR +5

    Would probably help Culinarians tremendously with sought after Meals plus they can sell all the Colored Feathers to crafters for Magic Arrows (...You have learned Chocobo Plucking technique).
