1 bar (macroing CDs) for BRD.

as far as fewer skills to use, your best bet would probably be either bard or black mage, from what it sounds like black mage would probably be better for you since you seem to have what i call "big numbers syndrome"
the complexity of all the dps classes is drastically increasing with most dps classes come heavensward however, especially with black mage.
BLM is the most laid back of all DPS
Pretty good if you want to relax and see your minions do all the work from afar.
Id like to clarify my original post if possible. I don't want to offend any people playing any class, I don't want to in return be offended by other who don't know the ins and outs of my reasoning, I'd simply like a little insight if possible.
The reason i said simple is because Im used to elaborate and in this game ive been leveling up to a scholar and had just unlocked it. I spend several hours researching end game scholar and realized that right now, i just want less complicated. All the guides explained various macro's and how to stop a macro during the cast to only cast a portion of it and then recast another skill. Keeping track of where your summon is, your faerie etc. etc. etc. The guides also talked about how to set up your hotbar 1-2-3 etc. your L1+R1 or R1+L1 etc.
continues on next post..
Well, starting from below, you can surpass the 1k character limit by editing a post you already.... posted.
BLM is definitely what you are looking for. Since you already stated that you dont wanna bother with a pet, SMN is already out of the question.
BRD is another good option with which you can still support your party somewhat. But unlike BLM, BRD has a lot of skills which you will be using quite often, meanwhile BLM wont really, unless you start using the Fire Weaving.
BLM is self-sufficient, laid-back, and its party support is solely its AoE-DPS power and one or two party member selecting def buff that healers will love.

I have 4 full bar of binds my own smn. Pet commands cost lot of binds if you wanna control it properly.

Pretty sure playing Summoner takes a lot work. Have aetherflow stacks up-Raging strikes-bio2-miasma-bio-fester-contagion (if you're using garuda)-be in melee range for miasma 2 and book smacking -swiftcast flare-rouse-ruin2-spur-ruin2-enkindle-fester-ruin spam until you need to refresh dots and shadowflare, use fester when it's up. Something like that. A lot more work then say a black mage.
A bard can be easy to play but becoming a very good bard won't be as easy. The more you practice playing a class it'll become second nature to you.

As a DRG main I can tell you that DRG is NOT the class you want. I have 2.5 hotbars, and the DRG rotation is one of the longest in the game with a large number of oGCDs to juggle on top of that. I find it extremely fun, but I also won't deny that it is pretty intense button-pushing-wise.
YAY Im relevantI'm fairly new to the game and been playing only healer and crafting over the past 3-4 weeks and I realized i just need a "break" from having a job..lol (no pun intended). Been gaming a long time and tend to do the healer/tank thing and I just want to hit some s**t hard.
thanksbut I play ninja and currently it is really simple. You stand behind the bosses and go through your combos.....no moving (unless the boss turns or aoe) and all of my skils (save my lb,passives and free roam ie chocobo) are on one hot bar. Only problems I have are that the dots and buffs arent the same length so sometimes management gets awkward and mudra lag is real
But if you dont like rotations or simple is the biggest priority then I would go black mage

I find Bard to be the most relaxing but that's keeping in mind the fact that I spent a number of years playing a hyper mobile ranged physical dps class in another game. It feels like home.
For black maging I only use two bars, one of those just has long cooldowns on it from cross class abilities and I maintain my rotation on a single bar quite easily. The hardest thing about BLM (to me at least) is long cast times so you have to know when it's safe to do long casts. Mobile we are not. Other than that, our rotation is pretty easy.
