I loved Chrono Trigger. One of my favorite games of all time, and when I heard Dragonsong I couldn't help but think, this sounds a lot like a song from Chrono Trigger, at least in some parts of the song.

Anyone else notice the similarity?

Edit: I do realize that both songs were composed Nobuo Uematsu, so it's no surprise that he could have borrowed the melody from 600 A.D. and slightly altered it. I just couldn't help but notice that both songs sound a little similar and I thought I would share and ask if anyone else noticed that Dragonsong sounds slightly like 600 A.D. in some parts of the song.

Generally speaking, in this day and age, we're going to start hearing songs bleeding together. This isn't to say they are (though in some cases...) but we've been crafting music for... hundreds if not thousands of years. That said, both games are owned by Square so to say that no inspiration occurred would be blind folly. That and Chrono Trigger is hella old now, the composer probably played it for all we know.

Thanks for the update! I mistakenly assumed the song was composed by Uematsu, and that was my mistake. Had I taken just a second to look at the description of the Youtube video of 600 A.D. I posted I would have seen that it was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. Well, we all make mistakes sometimes I suppose, and you know what they say whenever you assume something.... lol Anyway, thanks again for correcting me!

Actually, Nobuo Uemtasu did composed some songs in the soundtrack of Chrono Trigger, he had to step in after Yasunori Mitsuda fell ill for working so much on the Chrono Trigger soundtrack.

Yearnings of Wind was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda though.

I wish Dragonsong had more of it LOL. But ya i do hear some similar pattern. Good find!
