Yea I understand the reason for the decision, but maybe I should have bolded the spelling long words part lol. Made me /facepalm for a minute xDI think the point is more along the lines of instead of answering that question with "At level X you should look into Items A, B, or C because (long-winded game mechanics)" (I have done this) you can simply say "look for gear that is Green" without overwhelming newbies.
Probably using a console where using the keyboard is a hindrance. Other games solves the 'long name' problem by allowing a simple click on an item in one's inventory or equipped gear pastes the item's name into the chatlog, from where other players can click the name and get the tooltip for the item.
I'm sure SE have seen this, presumably there's a reason they haven't bothered doing that.
I dont remember anyone saying they wanted to disable the color coding feature, juse the XP popups that are being added

Yeah, I can see how people would not like that, but so far every single UI or icon addition to the game have been given customization options to activate and deactivate it. Can't see why this XP options wouldn't.

Now all that needs to be done is to create a system that addresses,
How do I shot Battle Regimen?
... and we're set.
Thank you for making it easier for unfamiliar players to get into this game.

That's nice, but -"When your gear becomes weak, it will turn grey, so you should look for new gear when that happens!"
There are times, especially in the case of DD and mage classes, where a lower level gear is better than the higher level gear because the lower level gear has better bonus stats that matter to the class, specifically. I guess it doesn't occur so much as to be much of an issue, but it's still important to note that "your gear is grey" does not always mean you are wearing the wrong gear.

Thats true! Always forgot about that, most people deck out in at least some old gear, a lot of my current gear would be grey even though its all the best I can use. That's nice, but -

How do they handle that sort of thing in WoW?...does WoW have bonus attributes? I don't remember from what little I played of it.That's nice, but -

My bad, I'm too used to people missing the point and freaking out about dev posts =X, not that you were =P

Though... the question usually isn't which gear is my level, the question is, which one is best. I myself feel like the long winded explanation was always fun ^^ Made the high knowledgeable players feel like they were smart and helpful and the low leveled players felt warmly overwhelmed and now they have a new friend which they'll ask questions to nonstop!
This will be convenient for people just rushing through the game and don't care about stats too much.
You don't need a reason to help someone~
