Uldah blows anyway, nobody should live here.
And hey OP! I did the exact same thing like... 3 months ago! It's a fun time.

I'll definitely say that the unskippable cutscenes are a total pain and should be skippable for everyone who already has a character on any server.
They need to do something about the housing issue.
Or give us planters in the private chambers of the FC house.
Or something.
Or instanced apartments with a balcony for plants.
First person that says "when everyone has housing, no one cares about housing" needs to go visit EQ2's housing community. EVERYONE has the option to get houses there, and there are ambitious people that level guilds just to get guild halls for personal decoration. The marketplace has houses available on it for crying out loud, and there are people that do nothing in that game outside decorating folks' houses and using things like bookshelves and flooring tiles to outright build entire structures outside the bounds of the house itself(breakouts).
Letting everyone get access to housing with all the amenities in some form or another isn't going to kill people.
The three different zones are for taste. I understand not wanting to have 100 zones with the one perfect house with a view on the waters edge in Mist, but having zero openings on any three, let alone being forced into undesirable spots in the Goblet (aka Brownsville, because it's very... very brown. Ugly as piss.) on ANOTHER SERVER we have to pay money to get is NOT entitlement like some people are claiming on this forum. (Not accusing you of at all.)
I wouldn't be posting here if there were spots open in Goblet on Balmung. Whatever. I'd deal with it until something better comes along and suck it up. The only ones available are on another server AND THEN Goblet. Sorry, but that's a deal breaker.
Nah, Zalera and Zodiark should still have housing and not just in Goblet..The three different zones are for taste. Although, to move an entire FC at cost, that's a whole different issue.
The cool thing about smaller servers is that there are people moving off of the servers constantly and you'll see open houses pop up periodically. (What that actually says about being on the server.. is open to interpretation)
As long as you're not on a Legacy server, you'll likely be able to find a housing in better city open up as long as you keep your eyes open, in fact, that's exactly what I'm doing right now.. After I gave my personal house away I'm just looking for any small plot to open up (after 2 months of decorating our FC mansion, I really don't want to decorate anything bigger than a small) and I've so far seen 5-6 open houses in the past 2 weeks that I've actively been looking.
Housing is an absolute disaster and now that they've decided to add all this feature-locking behind owning one I can only assume their heads are so far up their ass they can't see how stupid they're being.
My FC was on Ragnarok and instead of trying to save up with a tiny place, we server jumped and got a Large house for the same price on a smaller server. Not to mention the fact that it's very easy to liquidate your money into objects that will sell for MORE on the new server you chose.
It also depends on how much you actually want that house as balmung has been overcrowded for a long time and won't soon stop being so. You could also stay on balmung and see if they eventually come up with plans to have houses in the 3.0 areas...
So gil spammers can make even more characters, even faster? No thanks. What they really need is simply a webpage that displays the housing availability for each server.
...oh and to add more servers to handle more land lol
^.^
