Land Needs Are Unmet on Balmung

On Balmung, it is impossible to buy a house.

Not because of the price, there is no land available at all. Regardless of whether a player has a handful of gil or millions, they will not be able to buy a house. Those players will never be able to mess with gardening or placing decorations, things that have seen a lot of investment of time into. Not because they choose not to, but because there is a hard limit on the amount of houses available and all slots are taken.

This needs to be addressed, and according to patch notes I've read it is possible to add as many districts as is needed without effecting server stability. This is desperately needed, as a good amount of players, especially new or returning players, will never be able to build a house, even if they have the funds to do so. While 1440 plots may seem like a large number, I am certain it is dwarfed by the population of the server.

What Balmung needs is free server transfers to less populated servers for a week.

If the capacity exists to allow additional districts made at any time, then the easiest solution is to simply add significantly more districts.

even though this is the pretty straight forward answer i wish they could expand the size of current wards because having more people in the neighborhood appeals to me, makes it more lively and what not. i.e. kill subdivisions and make each area big enough to hold all 1-60 plots.

they definitely need to add more housing to accommodate very full servers like Balmung!

its not about having neighbours as I rarely ever see even 1 person in the housing district (would much prefer a large instanced zone/player to do with as we see fit ), BUT all players should be able to own one, game limitations gotta go se

I agree! I finally saved up for a house only to be disappointed at the lack of houses available. I mean, I'm a legacy player like alot of you guys on Balmung, we've played for a long time, and some of use couldn't afford a house at the start but really wanted one!

I disagree with most posters in this thread. Balmung, along with the rest of the largest worlds, does not need or deserve any special housing concessions. Instead, it's best to think of the largest worlds like the real world's largest cities. There are no special concessions for the residents of New York City, or Tokyo, or London, or Singapore, and so on. To live in the world's most bustling cities is to comes to terms with and accept the high cost of living.

I'm from one of FFXIV's smaller worlds, Coeurl. While Coeurl has its charms, no one would call it a busy, bustling world. For months now, we have lost friends, raid groups, and entire FCs to other, larger worlds. These players who transferred left to enjoy busier worlds with more lively social scenes and more robust PF communities and raiding communities. What we do have, though, is available land. For players with a personal interest in housing, Coeurl (and other similar worlds) offer that opportunity.
