But then I realized that they would have to have friends to do so... :X
I would if the game would stop forcing me to. Seriously though, comments like that make you no different from the people the OP is complaining about. Fantastic contribution to the discussion.

OP: I will agree with you 100% on those who are unfriendly for not skipping cutscenes and for the sake of someone being new. What I don't agree on is when that definition of new extends to when people are being plain dumb.

If a player goes into a new dungeon at level 50 wearing incorrectly statted gear, iLevel 28 accessories and with no idea what 90% of their abilities even do, there is nothing wrong with critiquing and encouraging learning.

Unfortunately, people often take critique as being unfriendly to new players, so we all get tarred with the same brush.

"OMG the tank is wearing caster armor."
    "Learn how to keep agro!"
"If you die again, I leave."
Stuff like this is incredibly common, and COMPLETELY counterproductive.

just at the red mark part is enough for a vote kick. They can read the skill description & search for information about skill, rotation & stats, this forum share and give enough information about that.

I am here to play the game, I am not queue for instance or dungeon, to tell ppl WAR is a tank, and you need to bla bla bla, and in the end carry them. That is the basic information, they need to know at least the basic before queue, and then get help from there.

Of course, though my point is that it's unfair to generalize that players do this with malicious intent.

I've had times where I've been the epitome of politically correct and sugar coated my critiques to the point my teeth would fall out and I was still chewed out for being an elitist jerk.

Some new players are hostile to veteran players, no matter how you handle it.

This is kinda one sided...new people/inexperienced people are not completely innocent on being rude.

I've been vote kicked out of a group just for politely letting a fellow BLM know that "oh if you use Fire I and use firestarter it is better than only using Fire III" then a minute later BAM vote kicked out.

I've also been vote kicked out for asking a tank to flash more cause I was getting hate just healing them. "Oh can you please use flash a bit more? I keep getting monsters on me from healing you" ....after that pull BAM vote kicked.

I used to try to help people that were new to the dungeon in DF but I gave up. Not only have a few times gotten me unjustly removed from the group but I've been verbally harassed a lot in the past just for offering a few tips.

I still try to help people some but it has become much less often that I bother to type anything. If they don't want to learn the game then fine, but kicking someone or swearing at someone for trying to help yeah...if you don't like or don't want to take the advice you can just ignore it right?

Yeah, there is always the other side of the story - people who don't accept even constructive critique voiced without any form of insult. Those are beyond saving, either carry them, or kick them, or leave. They will have to adapt or perish in due time.

Both of these are wrong, and sadly both groups cause neutral players to tilt to one of them.
A veteran who gets chewed for constructive criticism might give up on trying to help others.
A new player who gets a ton of flak and/or people quitting on them might get edgy and counter any form of critique.

That's why people just need to chill.

About the only time I was a bit irritated was when doing the castrum for story. Them 500 billion cutscenes, and while I wasn't watching them, I was still being held hostage by the load screens, and delay for the skip scene prompt. I was telling people they were moving faster than the cutscene system was allowing me to get out, and they were all like "sorry, we ran this 100s of time so it's nothing to just blaze through it now". Then I was told off to turn off cutscenes all together.

Which leads me to this: New players have things from the game that holds them hostage for a bit, so people have to wait on them. Can cause problems..

This. Sometimes when you try to help out people to pull stuff properly, no matter how politely or nicely you do it, there will be backlash. It's happened before, and it will continue to happen. Just as there are people who cannot contribute with fair critique, there are people who cannot take any form of critique or suggestions on the way they play. In the end, it's just player ego on both ends that keeps it happening. There's no way I could be in the wrong here, right?

My opinion on cutscenes, you should be allowed to have the same experience as everyone else, watching cutscenes at the inn just breaks my immersion.
Only cutscenes I do skip are the boss intro and outro ones. If it's the story related ones I'm seeing for the first time I'll just say I'm watching the cutscene, nicely of course, if they're not happy with it then that's their problem.

I have had people start a boss fight while I was watching a cutscene, without saying anything.
Luckily I keep my chat open even in cutscenes, so I have seen the XYZ will close in 15 seconds message, and skipped.
