    Midgarsormr and his children

So now we have 2 children out of 7 revealed, will we see the other 5 in Heavensward? I assume so since Dravania is pretty much Dragon HQ, but what i was thinking is...does anyone else get the impression Midgarsormr is playing us? We know that he and Hydaelyn had some sort of agreement..but i don't know, i don't trust the thing.

And what of his children, from what we know so far, Nidhogg is considered the King of dragons, and he's a nasty piece of work. Whereas from, the video Dragonsong we seem to be having some kind of peacefull talk with Hraesvelgr, but if you look at the full heavensward trailer, he assaults the warrior of light as he enters Ishgard.

Let me know what you think.

So far the dragons haven't come across as anything but racist pricks, IMO. The whole "The sons must pay for the fathers misdeeds" mentality is simply wrong, I'd expect creatures with such a long lifespan to be wiser than that... Ishgard may have started the war, but the dragons are the ones continuing hostilities 1,000 years on when nobody who was actually involved on Ishgards side is still alive (or are they?!). They're basically going "An Ishgardian upset me... KILL ALL ISHGARDIANS!", replace 'Ishgardian' with any race on earth, and yeah... Extremely racist...

The true enemy is almost certainly Ascians. Ascians probably manipulated Ishgard into pissing off Nidhogg. Ascians probably gave Nidhogg dragon rabies. Rather than fighting Ascians though, both are fighting each other. I imagine we'll be talking to Hraesvelgr to try and get everyone facing the real threat, but Nidhogg is far to mad to be reasoned with so we'll have to put him down. Queue Midgardsormr eating some humble pie as he realizes his race is just as pathetic as ours, leading to him giving up on life and becoming a mount for eternity, while we set about undoing 1,000 years of resentment between Ishgard and dragons and dealing with the real threat that both had been manipulated by so easily.

Also, if this expansion doesn't give us an Assault of the Silver Dragons... I'm gonna be so mad... I'm imagining 3.55 having Varis launch a new assault on Eorzea, with us leading Ishgard and dragons against it. Would be like 1.0s opening but a million times more epic.

The Dragonsong makes me think it's more a case of Nidhogg being possessed of an all-consuming rage upon the death of Shiva. The lesser dragons I think would have no choice but to follow his will, and his will is bent on revenge as only love can inspire.

I wonder...must be a very...simpleminded Dragon if his Brain so easily flooded with one Thought....

However we're unsure why the Garleans were there in the first place since they hate primals/eikons so it doesn't make sense for them to want to unseal the aether.
I don't think they wanted to unseal the Aether rather just cross the Lake for a Bombardment with their "Mighty Mothership".

Possible, though that doesn't exactly make for a compelling justification for the genocide of an entire civilization. More so when you consider Nidhogg is well over 1,000 years old and, even if things had been rosy, Shiva would have died of old age long ago. Although dying a martyr means she gets to be an immortal Primal...

It's not just lesser dragons that are following his will, either. Midgardsormr is, and Midgardsormr is even "forcing" all dragons to answer the call now, not just Nidhoggs brood... There would have to be a damned good reason all this... So far it just looks like Nidhogg misses depth perception, though... Given the Eye seems to hold some power, I really don't blame Ishgard for holding onto it, either... It's like if you took a muggers weapon away, and then they threaten to kill you if you don't give it back... Hell no you're not going to give it back, they'd just be able to kill you all the more easily...

Exactly, his actions make even less sense if that gets confirmation (I think it's just a popular theory at the moment?), and he has the gall to claim to test us? He basically turned Mor Dhona into a barren wasteland, I'm no expert but I don't think that is what the title "Guardian" entails... He has a lot of explaining to do, but instead he is being all pompous and condescending... He's perhaps one of my least favorite characters currently, as a result.

Certainly looking forward to all the plot details in Heavensward though, so many questions to be answered~

Also we've seen already in a 2.55 cutscene that the pope seems to be under the influence of the Ascians. Whether Midgardsomr knows this or not is in question but it's possible he wants the WoL to end the war by killing the pope, and that's why he's accompanying them to Ishgard.
