Okay resurrecting the old discussion as the official site confirmed that the blaíck dragon we fight normally at the end of the benchmark is in fact Nidhogg. Apparently we will just go and stab them.

I guessed that it would be Nidhogg, after seeing the benchmark. Well, he missing one eye after all..lol

It's unrealistic to assume the other sons of Midgarsormr are as strong as Bahamut, at least not the Bahamut that we know. His power was easily enhanced by the aether-infused prayers of his followers, so primal strength will vary from summoning to summoning. Louisoix had to become a god himself JUST to halt the destruction, but even then he couldn't completely destroy him. We don't know how strong Bahamut was in life though.
Middy is also leagues beyond our level. Even though his body is obliterated, his spirit alone could have killed us if Hydaelyn didn't intervene. Yes we fought him, but that was more for his own enjoyment. He is still very much alive of course :P

Pilot you mean. You can't wield a robot. Well, you can but it would look silly.
True, but it is not unreasonable to assume that dragons that probably predate all humanoid civilizations would be massive both in power and size. We of course know that Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr are regular size.
It has been explained that each individual dragon grows differently as it ages in reaction to various events. Vishap's size is likely an anomaly.
It may sounds like a lore thread put in the wrong subforum, but it's not. Sure, we will most likely join forces with the dragons eventually and most of the seven are likely dead at this point, but it is inevitable to fight at least some of them.
Question is: How? They are way too big. And neither Bahamut nor Midgardsormr was fought directly.
Assuming that each Wyrmking we confront will have a different mechanic to give us a fighting chance, how do you think it will happen? I personally wouldn't mind piloting flying magitek armors to zap a few oversized lizards.
If Final Fantasy has taught me anything, its that attacks big enough that can turn solar systems to dust can still be survived on a few HP.
I stopped questioning Final Fantasy logic when it comes to size years ago![]()

I think after FFVII they started making super attack animations shorter because it had gotten so ridiculous in that game. Knights of the Round takes a million years to finish too.

Well, we have our answers. Now the question is
what will we do without the eye?
