Confronting the Wyrmkings

It may sounds like a lore thread put in the wrong subforum, but it's not. Sure, we will most likely join forces with the dragons eventually and most of the seven are likely dead at this point, but it is inevitable to fight at least some of them.
Question is: How? They are way too big. And neither Bahamut nor Midgardsormr was fought directly.
Assuming that each Wyrmking we confront will have a different mechanic to give us a fighting chance, how do you think it will happen? I personally wouldn't mind piloting flying magitek armors to zap a few oversized lizards.

We might not actually end up fighting any of them, except for maybe one or two of them! ... At least I hope. Alternatively, I wouldn't be surprised if Ishgard had some last resort super weapon to kill them that they've been developing in down time. The fight would involve surviving and slowly whittling down the Wyrmking in question or killing his forces til we can activate the super weapon switch and blame! Wyrmking dust for everyone!

This is a Final Fantasy game. A series where characters have taken out (demi)gods, devils, airships, beasts the size of cities, weapons of mass destruction and other kinds of creatures with just swords and magic. You can pretty much beat anything that moves.

A fair point. We managed to beat CoD with conventional weapons. Then again, we didn't fight Bahamut or Midi directly, so it could go either way.

Beyond Nidhogg I'm not sure that we're going to be fighting the rest at all to be honest. The evidence is mounting that we're actually going to be joining Ysayle/Iceheart in speaking to the dragons and attempting to find some way to end the war without genocide on either side.

I ask myself what's scarier: Dragons? Or Omega Weapon?
