I would like an option to 'silence' some of those emotes

I may be a minority, but from time to time, i'll be sitting at the market board, 'window shopping' or be at the summon bell tending to my broken inventory, then a dam lalafel walks by and starts spamming the hell out of his cheer emote. Or whatever god awful emote that is. Yes, i'm aware i can turn down my volume, or mute it, but i shouldnt have to screw with my sound setting because one player wants to be a dumbass. If it was 1 or 2 cheers, i'd be fine, but 30 of them back to back in a row is just ridiculous.

I have 2 solutions for this madness:

1) an option to mute emote sounds. This would not be an ideal solution as this would mean i cant enjoy the sound effects from legit players. Which brings me to a better solution.

2) Set emotes so ALL emotes from people in blacklist are muted. This means that people who have them blacklisted wont be able to hear their emotes, but people who haven't blacklisted them should still be able to hear them.

Seconded. There's people who love to sit in the cities and repeatedly spam emote to make "sex noises" and the like. Not only is it sad, but it's incredibly annoying.

I would like this if there's also a chat window filter. If I'm trying to read FC or LS chat I don't want to see somebody spam hugging or slapping somebody to annoy that person
