    Targeting Party Members

I haven't really played an MMO with a targeting system like this in quite some time. It might just be me taking longer to learn but I'm having a hard time targeting party members as a healer. Clicking their name in the party list works fine but I'd rather not rely on doing that, it feels a bit clunky, especially when things begin to get hectic in a battle.

I've set tab to cycle through party members, which is great, but it de-targets them after a cure goes off. Is there any way to be able to cycle through the party have it "stick" to that member? I know I can set shortcuts to each position in the party list, which I'm still familiarizing myself with, but I'd rather prefer a sort of tab cycling method that sticks.

I'd really appreciate any sort of help or suggestions, thanks.

Oh yeah, and I'm on the PC. xD

If on pc, clicking is the best way. U just might need to arrange your UI. Place party list closer to center left of screen or where is easier for u.

You can also use F1-8 for targetting your party members (1 is you and then on down your party list) you van also make macros for the targetting but that also had some drawbacks...

As a healer, ill usually have the MT selected as they should be taking the most dmg if not all. If I need to cure some one else I tab »action, then my target reverts back to MT

I click in the party list, but I also have a mouseover (targets whoever your mouse is currently over, or directly does an action to them without targetting them) heal that's a pita if you try to use it on people in the field, so I just find it easier to select/mouseover the party list. I hate clicking or cycling through people in the field - it's clunky and annoying. There's nothing to click except the party list people, so I don't have an issue just leaving my mouse over the list. The only time I click people in the field is if they're in another alliance and in danger of dying before their own healers might get them.

I'm sure F1-8 is nice for targetting though...I use those for my second hotbar, because that's what they're for to me.

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.

I think everyone covered the various targeting methods. I should note that you can customize the party list order such that tanks are always on top (or bottom, or wherever you want them). I play PC with a controller so up/ down works nicely for going through the party list. I imagine setting tab to only go through party members (and shift tab to reverse) would be more or less the same experience. You can keep whichever target you want selected by hitting whatever your 'confirm' button is (X on PS3/4 style controller) after selecting them and before casting a spell.
