Been leveling smn recently (loving every minute of it too I might add) and in dungeons I put DoTs on all mobs available. If it seems like it is too much for the tank to handle on aggro I back off. It is less efficient but saves time on needless drama. I'd rather spend the extra five minutes doing one at a time throughout the dungeon than be accused of "trolling the tank".

Did a Tam Tara NM yesterday in roulette and checked the tank out. he was far better geared than I was, and yes, I know it is a very low level dungeon so no shield oath or circle of scorn. Guy didn't bother to flash at all the entire dungeon (or rather the entire time he was there). So after the healer "dc's" he throws a fit and leaves. The healer was tanking more than he was so what did the guy expect? If he wasn't sure how it worked I am certain his FC buddies could've explained it or barring that could've read the action help. Definitely wasn't a new player just new to tanking and too stubborn to learn.

Back on topic. Healers these days are pretty much obligated to dps. Coordination is key between tank/healer now. Speak up and let em know you've been gone a while and that you're gear isn't all that great. They take more notice of times to heal then. I used to main whm and let me tell you it can get rough quick. In regards to blm, nothing new there but on the other hand if done properly it can make for a speedy instance. It is about precision and knowing what to do. Dps typically won't use LB until less than/equal to 20% of final boss's hp to avoid the inevitable s#*t storm that ensues. Finally bards are a rare breed, at least the ones with common sense. Come prepared for the worst and hope for the best on that one.

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

For me it's 50/50. So far i'm on my second zeta and I've been doing darkhold / av and then the lv.50 ones. I've noticed a few things with players attitudes and what they consider skill.

There's experienced who pull because they're use to the speed runs, expect too much from new players. Pulling what they think the tank should pull

At the same time new players push the other players buttons by performing in ways that you shouldn't at 45+ such as standing in aoes, killing mobs that aren't the main target. pulling hate away from a target marked 2 when 1 is still alive and kicking. Wearing gear 10 levels below or more on a run.

These are problems, and I think in 3.0 we're going to have a lot of issues like we use to have before, people not gearing up properly, we won't be over powered so our aoe's won't be as potent, there will have to be sleeping / single targets being killed, markings and finding the monster who has a nasty move and killing it first.

This also, is something I've noticed a lot of people doing. Limit breaks, to me, are not just for boss fights but any situation where you find yourself in a tight spot. Like you said at the beginning of the boss fight, that's acceptable. If the monster is at 1% it's going to die there is no dire need for limit breaks.

I believe limit breaks are in much need of tweaking as well but that's a whole different argument.

Why do people get this upset over a video game? This is something you choose to do in your free time. It's supposed to be for fun. If you are getting upset, you're doing it wrong. I'll never understand some people.

In 4 man content, people want to clear it as soon as possible.

and because of most players are way too overgeared for those content, they don't need to play like in the old days anymore. most ppl don't dodge small AoE, don't care about getting aggro, and don't wait for the sluggish tank.

I would say to equip mnk/drg accessories when running low level dungeon as a tank. End game tank accessories are mainly vitality, so when synch down you will have fairly low attack in comparaison of dps who keep attack power.

Bard dots are enough to pull aggro on low level dungeons.

WMH: Since I read some of your other replies as well that said it caused wipes, they are for sure in the wrong. While DPSing is encouraged, healing is still the more important bit, even more so in pre-50 dungeons.

BLM: Already been talked about a good bit. I will say that I've actually been kicked for using LB on a non boss/early (Copperbell normal, before the second boss who lb isn't very useful against.) So you haven't been the only person to find it annoying that someone uses it on non-bosses. That said the only boss that should be waited on is the final boss (and even then, you'll probably still only get halfway to level two in many cases these days.)

Bard: Just something that has to be delt with, Shield Oath areas will make it easier. After the flashes you can go and swap between targets with your enemity combo skills, should be enough to keep everything on you as long as you didn't pull more than four. After shield oath/post-50 flash becomes more important to use alot but thats another day.

When I have a LB bar full and no melee in the pt, hell yeah I'm gonna use it on trash/boss. You gain the LB so quickly it's a waste to just sit on it until the last boss. I have NEVER had anyone complain or kick me for doing this.

Hmm...you'll have interactions like this every once in a while because you're playing with real people...not npcs. And Real people do unpredictable (and sometimes annoying) things....Welcome to MMO'S!

When stuff like this happens, I tend to brush it off when the dungeon's over and not let it eat at me. Because there are plenty of other awesome players and 9 times out of 10 I wont see them again.

My personal favorite is the arsehole that intentionally puts the waymarks in the wrong spot/ replaces waymarks with ones in the wrong spot, thus confusing new party members and irritating experienced ones.

I totally didn't know this was a thing until it happened during a hellish WoD run a little ways back. it was at the atmos trash and A and C were put in the opposite spots and it was a wipe because we had many new ppl and they ended up either locked out or were on the opposite area.
