Heavensward, Spoilers and New Players

Since it's actually probably not an issue to most of the people currently on the forums, this hasn't actually been mentioned as a possible problem yet, but if I were to get a friend to start in Heavensward, and they get both and install them both at once... will they be seeing the new Dragonsong video at the opening right off the bat? Even if they're a NEW player that hasn't yet completed the 2.55 story and know about all those spoilers? Or will they still get the A New Beginning video?

People may argue end of an Era is 1.0 spoilers, but it can't be spoilers for 1.0 because you can't play 1.0 anymore! Everything about 1.0 is gone unless you have videos recorded of it. But in the case of Heavensward you have to play through ALL of the 2.0 A Realm Reborn storyline to get to it anyway and who would want to START playing to have that storyline spoiled?

So what I really want to know is if the game will have a progression toggle (as in if the logged in account has both installed but has not progressed past the 2.55 storyline, it won't get the spoiler video) or if there is actually going to be another non-spoiler video that will be shown in Heavensward opening?

well first off why would you get them to get heavensward right off the bat? unless they already tried the free trial and affirmed they love the game.
i believe once you install heavensward the title screen will be the heavensward one though no information has been released alluding that there will be the possibility to toggle back to the original.
and lastly im not particularly sure which video is going to be shown in the title screen but you should be prepared for spoilers just in case or have you're friend install heavensward only once they finish the main scenario

It could be something where you don't get the new intro till after a certain point (IE beating 2.55, thus starting Heavensward.)

Also this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4phUCJlomPo) is more likely to be the intro I believe. Still spoilery but NOT for 3.0 stuff. That said unless a dev/mod posts something we won't know for another month.

have them skip the cutscenes? you arent forced to watch the opening cutscenes at the title screen! just hope your friend can resist the tempation to peek haha

If the expansion pack is based on events that occurred during the development of the current story, then eventually you will come to a point (as the actual release draws near) where you cannot show anything that won't be classified as a spoiler for someone (in any shape of form).

It's basically the same for watching a trailer of a sequel of a movie you haven't fully seen yet. By watching it, you will know it's going to spoil something. But, there's nothing you can really do about it, rather then continuing your progress in the story in preparation for the expansion pack.

You can't really make a trailer of a sequel that doesn't spoil anything about the sequel or it's predecessor.

That's my guess, as we also got a full opening movie after logging in or creating a character for 2.0, different from the version on the menu. It solves the spoiler thing.
