I see you, sadist fairy master.

Hmm. The thought of sacrificing the fairy does not sit well with me. I always enjoyed the playstyle of a scholar not being a full healer when if you control your pet manually well enough you could do a lot of older raids and extreme modes/4 man dungeons with the scholar being almost all back up dps while my pet did the bulk of my healing except on necessary times.
I loved healing through my pet and a new spell in the game if its mechanically superior to remove your pet now for a potency buff will wreck this beloved job I have played exclusively since 2.0 came out. If that is the case I may shuffle over to Astrologian. If Astrologian has little direct damage spells and is a true support class that buffs other people's dps as its method of supplying dps it may be the new job for me. I hope the sacrifice fairy gets removed before it makes it to live. We should respect our companions we made a pact with and not mutilate them for personal power... Just doesn't make sense.
No one said anything about "sacrificing" the fairy, the working skill name is dissipation. I imagine it more of a channeling of energy, as the fairy, along with the grimoire, is the scholar's conduit to the ancient Nymian strategies of war. Even so, what "increased magic powers" that are bestowed upon us are still a mystery, and we'll have to wait to find out just what that means.Hmm. I read all this and yes, sch is getting plenty to look forward too. Almost seems to me much more than any other job. I'm just concerned that it's all but confirmed that they will separate SCH and SMN. I do truly hope they do. If they have announced it, can someone point me to it?
Ha ha, scholar actually has to press buttons now! SUCK IT!

Meh. Scholar turns into a white mage if this destroy your fairy for more power ends up being a buff for those who don't want it gave to deal with pets.
I don't know... all the healing jobs sound the same now
all can heal and do barrier now

So many posts here talking about how people "rely on their faerie" and how "healing without a faerie is noticeable"...and here I am using Selene on turn 13.
This is awkward.
Sure she does an embrace but that's pretty slow and weak and never really saves anyone. I think we will be fine.
Honestly? I think we should be more worried about Eos' usefulness. She's already unnecessary in all fights (except maybe ifrit EX), and people only use her if they are very under geared or just like having a crutch. With spell/skill speed getting buffed and scholars getting good AoE healing...there will be literally no reason to use her ever again. Poor girl.
You're...joking right? Please tell me that's a joke.
