The PS3 killed FFXIV

i'd love to see FFXIV on ps3 and even 360 (lets face it if it hits ps3 it will probably hit 360 too)
say no all you want but it happened with 11 after SE stood up in their big boy pants and said FFXI would not go to xbox... (fast forward 2 years) FFXI is now on the xbox haha

They've said XIV won't go to 360 due to Microsoft saying no to an online game that doesn't need xbox live subscription to play.

Microsoft have a tendency to be quite stubborn with their decisions.

On amazon it has a ps3 FFXIV with a release date of Dec. 31. 2012. I would wager it will hit the ps3 lol.

Somehow I don't think it's going to be released on the PS3 on New Years Eve in a years time

they usually launch games before x-mas, not after. my guess will be next year sept of nov.

I've bought a PS3 for FFXIV, and ofc I bought Deus Ex today as well^^ And a snap-on keyboard for my ps controller. Now I am playing the waiting game until I can swap from playing on PC to the PS3.

I think I did this for nostalgic feelings when looking back to when I played FF7-10 on Playstation as well^^

yeah but ff7 to ff10 was offline rpg
ffxi in ps2 was bad idea, the reason never upgrade graphics and cant receive more expansion packs for ps2 limitation

Cause its not out yet? (j/k) What makes you think it will kill it in the future? (not judging you answer just want to know if it's different from the OPs point of view). I think what could kill xiv more than the ps3 is it's level of addictiveness (or lack thereof), if players can't get into it, it will sink. I like to think that theres a "hard core" gamer in all casual gamers, they just need an excuse.

I think there are just as many if not more PC players that would enjoy quick play sessions. It's not just console players.
To say Leves were added for console players is silly. Personally I like the Leves, and you don't have to use them if they upset you so? When ppl say the ya are forced to play anything is silly. They just have to not do it.

Now is the game lacking in other alternatives to play solo aside from pure grinding? ya it is. Thats what Strongholds are going to help out with. I always soloed them for XP in FFXI. Granted it would be much faster with a party, I just had difficulty fitting into parties because I was a Red Mage. ppl are so damn picky in FF when it comes to parties, if they can't get the best XP/min or optimum party they would rather wait for better prospects :P bah.

Now to say that the UI we are stuck with is because of console players.. Well thats another story Because it is!

Well it's fairer to say the UI was designed for gamepad users, not just PS3 players. The UI is clunky and awkward with a keyboard and mouse but I could see a gamepad streaming through it no problem. Reaction time for skills on the other hand, will still always be faster with a keyboard.
