Naruto is actually heavily nestled in Japanese culture. The thing about it is it was made with the west in mind so it's done in a way it won't go over the heads of americans watching it where compared to animes like Clannad for example, it helps to know Japanese culture.

Some episodes are, especially the longer ones. There's like 7 animation studios working on Naruto.

Ah. I always wondered how they were able to churn out so many episodes so quickly to keep it going at a constant rate, where as the anime that only get 1 or 2 seasons take like, a year or two to make.
