The PS3 killed FFXIV

ffxi was massive and it was developed for the ps2 in the first place. And it was doin well for quite a long time. A lot of companies cater to both systems now.
The problem is, that SE doesn't do it very good imho (but more on the hardware side, the content side has nothing to do with console or pc gamers i guess)

See... here's where I disagree with people. The system is designed to work for both. You can store up to 99 leves on a timer, and that timer ticks for everyone -- long session or short -- when you're not using the points. There's an increasingly huge amount of stuff you can do in game, you're not -always- going to be doing leves.

I started playing Rift this weekend because a friend of mine gave me a copy for free (its nice knowing Gamestop managers who get baskets of free stuff from conferences...), and it took like 2+ hours of game play just to get out of the tutorial area. That's all well and good, but honestly, I have a lot of games on my plate (Dead Island, Magic Online, Minecraft 1.8) for video (starting a web series) and entertainment purposes, it gets to be a bit of a headache when developing my MMO character requires I completely disregard every else I want to do in a 5 hour span.

There's going to be tons to do in FFXIV once it gets going full steam, I think this system is less for casuals and more an attempt to make something that'll work well for both sides. After a short, week-long business trip after unlocking Abyssea in FFXI, I never ran out of time stones and they work more or less the same way as here.

Stereotype much?! I used to play an MMO on PS2 called "Everquest online Adventures" for many many hours a clip. I never understood the PC is leet vs console lame for gaming. I have played both, while PC has a better versatility the console has a sort of comfort ability. Nothing like being in my favorite easy chair on my 70 inch tv playing an MMO on a console. Especially if your job has you on the computer all day. The last thing you want to do is be on a computer to relax.

I have played many many MMOs and console has little to do with how easy or hard the game is. I have a lot of PC friends who feel like you do as well and I found out why recently at a party at my house. It seems they never really gave a console a chance or even tried one. It was more a fear of the unknown for most of them. Once they got the controls down they seem to be having a good time. One actually went right to "Game Stop" on the way home and bought a xbox and a PS3.

A real gamer has a gaming PC rig,and every major console platform. Maybe its YOU who really is the casual gamer, and not as leet as you think you are lol.

Oh yeah, because going to the "colibri camp" was exploring the wilderness and adventuring to the beyond... It's the same thing, except now DDs have to move from target to target instead of pressing attack and waiting for the TP to use an ability. If anything, leves are more of an adventure as each of them have a purpose aside from the experience they give. There are plenty of mobs in Eorzea's open areas to kill. Are you doing leves? If so, why? What you want is there for you. Go enjoy your playstyle instead of saying that one of the options to level is not ok because you don't think it is.

Its dumb to even have leves cuz they dont even relate to the main story of the game to begin with. "Hey adventurer go kill 4 turkeys a goat and a giant salamander" Leves should be renamed to pest control.
