When the developers of the game state they are going to go over each new ability for the currently existing classes and show 5 new abilities for each class I have no reason to believe they are being inaccurate in their presentation.

Whm meta has never been about dps

The raiding meta in this game has always been about overall raid DPS. It does not take much effort to understand that several of the new abilities and design direction for WHM assist in this.

The intent and meaning of this last quote in your post directly contradicts the position you are trying to support. In the live letter they specifically stated that WHM is intended to become more of a hybrid capable role.
