After Some Occurrences, Game Will Not Accept Input From Mouse & Keyboard Anymore

So this has been going on for quite some time. I find the login/logout process a bit annoying so I leave my character online a lot. Sometimes after coming back on from overnight, mouse and keyboard inputs will not work. Nothing in the game is clickable. I've tried the software keyboard, different mice, keyboards etc. The only input the game will accept is from the game pad.

Sometimes this happens if monitors accidentally switch resolutions, or the computer goes into lock mode. The odd thing is ALT+Tab still works from in game allowing me to tab out of the game.

Sometimes this also happens when I receive 9001 and 9002 error codes or otherwise get kicked back into login screen. This is especially frustrating when I am in dungeons etc where people are waiting on me and I am forced to force-close my program and completely re-login to get back into the game. Usually I get kicked before I can fully get back on. :/

This is happening on two different computers! I have a custom built desktop and a Microsoft Surface Pro 2. Programs are very different from one another because they are used for different purposes, except share that I do switch FFXIV on either/or of them often.

Computer #1 (Custom):
Windows 7 Professional
Intel i7-4770k 3.50ghz
8GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

Computer #2 (Microsoft Surface Pro 2):
Windows 8.1 Professional
Intel i5-4300U 1.90ghz
4GB Ram
Integrated Graphics (Intel)

I end up having to force close FFXIV if I don't have my gamepad handy.

This is about the 500th time this has happened, I searched the forums and didn't see much anything else about it. Am I really the only one with this terrible issue? And why on two very different computers?

Likely power management is taking them offline. Disable the low power states to see if it keeps them connected to XIV... it doesn't always recover input devices.

I looked in my power settings and I've noticed "USB Selective Suspend Setting" was enabled on both computers. I have disabled it, we'll see what happens! Thanks!
