Thank you SE for adding hard overworld mobs!

Thank you devs and Yoshida for adding a bit of danger and life to the open world in the expansion! I am really looking forward to it.

Content like this is what the game needs to give it more life and make it feel alive

Shame we'll eventually just be flying over everything and avoiding all danger. :/

Gonna be fun the first time going through them all though.

Nah, you're gonna have to land for quest objectives. So instead of the urrent *Suffer through the sylphlands being heavied all the time, reach spot, 3 hit everything near you, 5 hit target, leave* we might actually have some challenge, a reason to group if we want to be fast and reckless.

    Wooohoooo!

But yeah, only worry is flying mounts basically making mobs skippable. Happened in WoW when TBC came out.

I'm going with the notion that the enemies will provide a challenge at level and as a fresh 60. But once we start gearing up, the challenge will be gone. Hopefully I get proven wrong.

You don't have to worry about Flying mounts making them skippable first time in the zone though. You have to learn the air currents before you can fly anywhere.

In my opinion it doesn't really matter. Having stronger mobs isn't going to add a sense of danger or stress to anything because there is no penalty for death. I get the excitement of having challenging mobs in the open world that can't just be facerolled. Having to tread carefully and/or with a party to get from point A to point B is great, but the whole reason that adds a challenge was because of the penalty if you got spotted.

Vertical progression is at the core of this game, so you will not be wrong. Once we are all geared in Alexander gear, we will be just dropping into the middle of packs of mobs and AOE them away. By 3.1, beast tribe camps will be trivial and we will be rounding up multiple packs for AOE soulbinding just like we do now.
