    I'd rather not waste my precious time grinding the same dungeons over and over for better gear so I can run those same dungeons 3 seconds faster. Once I finish the MSQ, unless there's any side content I'm interested in running for its story (as in, ONCE), I'm pretty much done until the next content patch.

    So yes, I look forward to content where traveling in itself is fun and adventure, I'm in no hurry to get to the end-game grind, seeing as I'll just unsub once I'm there and wait until they've nerfed it in a patch or two. I'm tired of the content that caters to the "what's in it for me?" approach. So far, FFXIV's overworld has been almost completely throw-away, which is one of the reasons I've been having a lot more fun since I re-subbed to FFXI.

It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    think ppl are thinking this will be harder than it actually will be. Its mostly means you cant just jump from mob to mob or zone to zone without any attention to your environment. To be honest proper pulling has become a lost art in MMOs and i like the idea that proper pulls will be a thing again. For example on the beastment stronghold idea he gave (which we still have no idea what "role" they might play within the actual game) you could still make your way though the area with caution and paying attention to mobs los, and picking off the "stragglers" to make yourself a path.
    More danger in the world! yes pls! =D

    edit: you have to keep in mind that you can, you know, fly now :P sure its not right away but imagine how much more "rewarding" it will be to finally get it because of the danger of ground mounting past certain areas =D

    Whats so dynamic about fates? Nothing changes about them and they offer no change to the world. ALL fates are always the same. Nothing new ever happens in them. I think the fate system should be scrapped because honestly its the same thing over/over, and doesn't make much sense.

    So, you saved a girl from a monster, 10 minutes later you do the same thing. SO DYNAMIC!

    What I got from it, most areas will be harder to solo, but still can be done as such. Even the beastman areas probably could be so long as you are careful.

    Plus it gives another reason to get flying, since currently it seems you'll be safe up there. Things like beastman specific areas might be more sidequest stuff than storyline as well.

    You're asking for environmental change in a game type where it isn't possible without screwing a large portion of other players (this is why the main story questline had to be written as it was instead of having you actually exiled from the place you were exiled from and not have actual access to it).

    What you're asking for is something along the lines of the Hornet's Nest. Except we both know how popular that place was once the leveling rush came and went. You could also ask for phasing, which SE has done to a degree, though that creates other complications.

    Not really. FATE's difficulty level and mob stats adjust depending on the number of people participating. Once something stops being relevant, people will move on and those areas will be pain to do/traverse through. You're ignoring one of the key parts of human nature without thinking of the consequences to gameplay and the experience.
