Afraid of competition? I think they need to make it even harder. Make it so bosses can only be challenged by certain groups, if you have more then the group requirement... No loot. Lock encounters to groups that pull them as well, other people shouldn't be able to damage or heal groups that pull mobs. This prevents zerging. =)

I'm tired of things being boring and static, the world has NO challenge. The game has NO dynamic content in it.

Considering some of us play to get away from the BS you see in the real world (plenty of competition there, btw), it's not a bad thing to not want to deal with that during leisure time.

We have dynamic content; It's called FATEs. We also have open-world challenges; they're called treasure hunts. We also have A and S-rank hunt mobs, which can't be soloed. There is stuff to do outside.

The fact that you're not instantly a dead man walking from getting aggro is not a bad thing.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

Whats so dynamic about fates? Nothing changes about them and they offer no change to the world. ALL fates are always the same. Nothing new ever happens in them. I think the fate system should be scrapped because honestly its the same thing over/over, and doesn't make much sense.

So, you saved a girl from a monster, 10 minutes later you do the same thing. SO DYNAMIC!

You're asking for environmental change in a game type where it isn't possible without screwing a large portion of other players (this is why the main story questline had to be written as it was instead of having you actually exiled from the place you were exiled from and not have actual access to it).

What you're asking for is something along the lines of the Hornet's Nest. Except we both know how popular that place was once the leveling rush came and went. You could also ask for phasing, which SE has done to a degree, though that creates other complications.

pokes fun at someone being afraid of competition, wants locked encounters so he doesnt have to compete with another group for damage.

Actually you are wrong. It means the group before has to take a risk of pulling it first and could wipe because they either didn't have enough people to do it or didn't plan it. Then since they attacked it we can plan and watch the fun.

Locked Encounters are a good design to stop "Zerging". So you can't play it like Guild Wars 2 and roll through the zone in big raids killing everything.

in the first week of the game where no one knows how to fight the monster sure.

After that it devolves into a game of who can spam the most dotons and shadowflares where the monster spawns turning any competition into a lottery.

If the monster spawns in a random location the playerbase has proven they can game that just by cheating :/

Ok, but cheating gets you banned. I really "really" "really" hate that excuse.

Hackers usually get banned, bots usually get banned.

Open World content is content that lasts the longest, however people are not used to Open World having loot in it, which is a big deal.

What content do people remember and go back to most? The Open World.

Raiding and Open World Dungeons and Shared Dungeons are some of the funnest things I have ever done in a game. They are the types of zones "bots" cannot do. Due to their hardness and needing to actually pay attention to the zone, the people around them and other things.

Open World Content is perhaps the hardest content to bot, which is probably why Korean/other MMOs dislike it so much. A lot of their subscribers are bots. Also - I have a strong feeling they dislike fighting with each other.

Add "track" to rogues it doesn't matter if you know where the boss is either, even if they know where the boss is they still have to crawl deep into a dungeon fighting other players to get to it.
