    Mudra lag, positioning, shortest GCD and on top of it we're supposed to support others with Goad and the new aggro decrease ability (the latter of which sounds useless for most relevant content, if aggro management stays as it is nowadays). In the meantime, MNK and DRG get actually new and seemingly very useful and strong mechanics.

    I sure hope there's some amazing stuff coming for Ninja they just didn't bother mentioning, but from the live letter, the changes for Nin seemed to be a very sad joke in comparison to DRG and MNK.
    From the way it sounded, we'll end up having the hardest class with the lowest DPS as far as melees are concerned. I just hope it won't really end up being that way.

    And if it does turn out that way, what will we have to show for it? The ability to regenerate TP for others, but not ourselves - while MNK gets the ability to recover their own TP, removing the Nr.1 target for Goad from the equation. And we'll be able to decrease aggro for one target... probably the new thing MNKs will keep asking us for, because with their awesome additions they can't help but pull mobs off the tank?

    Until Yesterday, I was sure I would main NIN for Heavensward. At this point I'm not so sure anymore. I don't want to play the other melees' cheerleader.

    Worst case scenario is that they'll end up as punishing as pre-buff DRG where missing a positional screwed up your rotation and botched your overall DPS. I don't think adding positionals will drastically affect a NIN's DPS in a negative way, nor will it make any less fun to play. (At least for me)

    Am I happy that its getting positionals? Not exactly. If I wanted to play a positional heavy class, I would have rolled a Monk in the first place. This is why I hope no more than two or three skills get positional requirements. Any more than that is frankly obnoxious and the job turns into a Monk with daggers. At the very least, I hope to see a heavy potency increase for our current skills that get these requirements.

    Sorry, but I have to lol at nin complaining about positional requirements.. Seriously. If you don't want them then go play a bard or caster or tank or healer.. MNK and DRG have had them the whole time.. There's still plenty of MNK and DRG out there, isn't there? Hitting a positional is a rewarding challenge, there is not challenge to stand in one spot and mash buttons. What a lazy attitude lol


    Anyways.. Maybe they'll change goad, maybe not. As selfish as most NIN seem to be acting about their positionals, then they'd prolly just be selfishly using it on themselves the whole time anyways lol. I also doubt the enmity reduction ability will be able to troll tanks, there's no need to reduce enmity of the top target, really, only the gap between 1st and 2nd in aggro, or maybe it will have a stipulation such as "has no effect on tank jobs". It will be a niche use ability, no doubt, but us DRG and MNK will love it when you help us not pull off the tanks since we are gonna be so OP :P

    (yes, that was a cheap shot lol)

    The whole point of this is not to enrage you guys, just want to point out, it's so early, with little information being released. Why get all worked up over it before it actually comes out? I doubt NIN is going to become the red headed stepchild of FFXIV, if anything that's where SMN is heading.. xD

    I feel like they didn't do much to the Ninja's mechanics because it was already a pretty innovative class when you compare it to the classes we had at launch. The addition of the positional's seems like their answer to adding more diversity to the class; in the same way the changes to monk, bard, etc. add diversity and decision making.

    Pretty much. I can imagine an extra mudra would make things more complicated than needed to be. I am sure there will be more to Ninja than what devs described (at that point, they sounded like they were rushing the live letter), we will just have to wait and see.
