    Strict Positional (getting the debuff, comboing off it and doing more than 100 potency) became a liability for DRG when compared to MNK and esp NIN at the time. T11 being a prime example esp on last phase where the if the boss does (and will) turns around for nerve gas and the DRG is tethered, the rear and flank positional will be out of reach.

    Having a strict positional does shoot yourself in the leg when it comes to designing fights. If it ends up becoming a problem, X class isn't feasible and gets benched, if not be severely underperforming compared to other classes.

    The old positionals for dragoon disabled the combo. It wasn't hard so much as frustrating especially in certain fights where you didn't have access to get the proc. Just because someone doesn't like a bad design choice =/= hating gameplay.

    Why do people strawman so much?

    Taking a statement to a different/wrong context. In your case, getting rid of strict positionals is dumbing the game. No one is asking for that (dumbing down the game), but at the same time hard positionals like that can really bite you in the ass when it comes to certain fight mechanics. Classes either end up being ineffective compared to others or the fight needs to be designed with that in mind.

    I know what a strawman means. He's using it incorrectly is what I was getting at.
    I've played plenty of MMOs to see a trend of people wanting to dumb down the game. Difficulty can be fun.

    There's a difference between being difficult and being impractical.

    Removing Heavy Thrust's flank requirement for the buff didn't lower the class' skill cap. You still need to hit the flank with it as often as possible in order to do what would be considered good DPS. The only difference is fault tolerance; your DPS won't tank as hard if you happen to miss the target's flank due to variables outside of your control.

    So is anyone else a bit concerned about the Skill Speed changes? I imagine it'll be much better than Critical Hit Rate after 3.0, but it still has the whole issue of TP management attached to it for Ninja. Seems like it'll mostly be a significant boon for Monks (maybe Dragoons?), meanwhile Ninja will be stuck treating Skill Speed the same way Monks currently do.

    I so wish I could Goad myself...

    Hassle your bards for Moar TP ballad. They don't cast it enough nowadays. Maybe Skill Speed will change their mind!
