    More variety of guildleves

Just read through the new changes to guildleves.

I'm pretty sure the rest of the community is aware about how repetitive, boring, and dull the current guildleves are.

    1) During R20 guildleves, the last mob runs away. This type of guildleve is repeated in R30 and R40

    2) Defending the area guildleves - seriously? We're defending a red round circle in the middle of no where? How does this make any sense? At least let us defend a fort, or heck, even the camp. Give us something that is actually worth defending.

    3) Necrologos(however you spell it) typed leves - Similarly, this type of guildleves is repeated thoroughly through R30, R40

    4) Make leves in different areas DIFFERENT. There's no point travelling to Ul'Dah to do what I already did in Limsa.

SE, please fix the issues that actually matter. What we want is variance, not give us more of what is already so boring and repetitive, or giving us a history list of what leves we have complete, at least not now. I could seriously do without EVERYTHING that was mentioned in the guildleve revisions list for a greater variety of guildleves.

The guild leves have a story behind each and everyone of them.... they should be present during the actual leve.

Lets say an imp is attacking a farms sheep and is hiding as a sheep itself to get past the farmer. So lets go to an actual farm and do some kinda mini game to find out which sheep is the imp in sheep's clothing! Don't have to just attack the sheep till one turns into an imp....that isn't logical....thats killing the farm's sheep and your no better than the imp. Leave it to the actual game designers to figure out a mini game for this....im just an IT guy lol.

Same thing for the ones where the squirrels are eating up the crops....go to the farm...witness the infestation of the squirrels all over the farm.... kill them off.... find the "nest" of the squirrels where they are all bringing the food too. And kill off the nest... maybe make a big squirrel boss at the end.

These are simple ideas....but i think they are far better than what we have now.

I'm sure the ones with the demon pages and such could be far more interesting if the designers just got creative. Treat each leve as if it was a side quest...just alot less running back and forth and talking to 10 npcs....

this isn't too much to ask is it?

Agreed. And the Defense leves, for god's sake, are the most boring. You get attacked by about one or two mobs a minute, who are easily finished off. The number of mobs should be triple on anything above one-star - you ought to be scrambling not to get your ass kicked.

I have to disagree here. The last point is hard enough. I did the one to kill 2 zombie mages, and the last spot spawned 2 zombie pikemen and the 2 zombie mages at once. I had to run away then pull the pikemen away to kill them off first. Then I took on the mages and died after killing the first. After respawn I headed back to kill the last mage. Granted this was a rank 40 leve and I was a PUG rank 35. But I was doing other rank 40 leves and the mobs weren't as difficult.

That's not a 'defense' leve. That one (at Halatali, right?) requires you to run to several different points to pop the mobs. Defense has just one single point and a 5-minute timer.

Besides, the one you talk about is easy as well as long as you do what you did and separate the last group. You're totally right that it's one of the most difficult ones there, though.

Ah, my mistake. I have never done one of the defense ones then. The one I was talking about was the Halatali one. It took me 27 minutes to complete. Those pikemen have alot of hp, and their tp bleed/poison special attacks really suck.

The defense leves are underwhelming; you expect to be defending a camp, but in some of them the gaps between waves are so long you can prepare for teh next wave (as ARC, there's so much time to prepare that I have nocked 3 arrows, healed up and am ready before anything even spawns).

Definitely agree though, it seems all you fight at low level is puks, and then at 40+, almost every leve is Mongrels and Efts, last spawn runs away/bonus spawn appears when kill count is reached. Being less predictable would be nice.

I always had to run away on that leve. As a gladiator, I couldn't block any of the mages attacks, so I couldn't use my phalanx ability and they would TP drain me. It was nearly impossible to kill them with them spamming poisons and tp drain attacks. From now on I skip that leve on the amount of difficulty it set for melee classes.
