Duty Finder is a bit of a gamble when it comes to who you're going to be playing with.
You could have a really pleasant party who will communicate and use team work to get through the dungeon or boss
Other times you could have some of the most disgusting people ever, luckily SE takes reports of bullying seriously.

I've seen a lot of posts about discrimination and abuse of Japanese toward western players. As soon as they see E as system language they kick you from any PF, or don't heal you in DF etc. All PF there are 'JP ONLY'.

Please, they aren't so narrow-minded. If a PF states 'JP Only', you can still join provided you have the ability to communicate with them. Here's a typical example of what happened in a T13 JP greed party on PF I joined recently.

    *English player joins*
Host: 希望どうぞ (What item do you wish to roll on)
E player after 3mins: 剣です (Sword)
Host: すみません、剣は空いていません (I'm sorry but the sword is not available) - Someone had opt for the sword earlier.
Host: 他の武器はどう? (How about choosing another weapon)
    E player after another 5mins: 剣 (Sword)

At this point it's fairly obvious that this E player has very little JP ability. The host had no choice but to kick him because he was essentially holding up 7 other people. Not to mention that he wouldn't be able to understand a single word of the 説明マクロ (explanation macros, positioning) for T13.

Of the 19 months that I've been on Tonberry, I've never been kicked just based solely on the fact that I'm an E player. I've also never heard of JP players not healing E players in DF. They aren't little petty children for god's sake. If you join a JP server, at least make it a point to either learn the basics of the language or make an effort to communicate via auto translate.

So basically JP server transfer was a bad advice because there's a very high chance TC does not know Japanese.

I wish I could vote what server not to go to, because that would be Odin.

My best advice is to create an alt on another server (level enough to get party finder) and see yourself how it is... Sure you won't be able to experience much but you can get a general idea without wasting money for a transfer to a server that you may end up not liking.
My personal experience is limited on Lich, I like the server, there are a lot of nice people and I love my free company.
For the duty finder, if you want to stay in EU, then it probably won't change much... The only bad experiences I ever had were in the CT duties, as 4 man dungeons usually runs smoothly for me.

I wonder if French and Germans gets their own realm when EU data centers comes, currently Moogle is "unofficial" French server and that causes problems with non-french players in Moogle server as PF and shouts are most of time in french. So if anyone is looking a EU server i would suggest Phoenix, alot of old FC members has transfered there and it sounds it is actually a english server.

I'm hoping that with the EU data center, we also get language tags (honestly, when they put all the NA/EU servers in the same place, they should have put language tags on them) in addition to the Legacy/EU tags (probably just for English, German, French, Spanish and Russian) on some of the servers to make it easier for people to find the world with the language they're most comfortable with.
