    Warrior tank attributes

    Greetings All,

I am coming back to the game after a year and a half and I decided to start over and make a Warrior tank. I am just level 12 but thought I should come here and find out more about where to spend my attribute points. I did some searching on the interwebs but couldn't find any real definitive answers. So I come to you, the tanking community.

What should I be putting my attribute points into? (I know Str and Vit, but what percentages?)

    Thanks!

It's common to go all-in on strength at endgame. Until you've finished leveling and then gearing up, you might want all vitality or a combination of both, then once you've got a lot of HP and don't need the extra vit, you're able to reallocate your points to strength by using a consumable item purchased from a grand company.

There's no need at all for bonus Vit while you're leveling if you keep your gear decently up to date.
You might want some right when you've hit 50 if you're around the i-level minimum for the content you're doing.

Recently did this with an alt character, all STR allocation from 1-50.

Just keep up to date with Left-side HQ PDEF/MDEF gear. Every 5 levels you go from Celeta/Cuirass/Gauntlet/Sabotons to Heavy Army/Heavy Flancherd and repeat. Dungeons didn't give any grief that they wouldn't otherwise at low levels (they're just so long D: )

@OP Rbstr is right STR build WAR requires ample gear and when you're a fresh 50 the under-performance coupled with a lack of the +30 VIT crutch might be enough to warrant some concern.

But that's a problem for another day,

im vl40 now...really helpful for me to have all crafter to 50.
can craft easily over 3 star equip with no probs

EDIT: little infos about WAR cross class skill. could you confirm that as a war i need only Convalescence, Provoke, Second Wind, internal release and mantra? Or i need someone else?
(ive a monk so it's an easy way for me)

Do you need more HP? -> VIT
Do you have enough HP? -> STR

Pre-50, I would probably recommend a 2:1 VIT:STR ratio. As you're leveling up, most healers won't have the amazing healing abilities of endgame, nor will you, as a WAR, have monstrous HP just yet. Once you hit 50 though, it's a matter of gear/playstyle. If you have roughly 10,000-11,000 HP in Defiance, I'd push for more STR. As a WAR, our DPS factors into our ability to hold hate more than it does for PLD. Endgame DPS is gonna get ridiculous, so in order for us to keep aggro, have to do more damage per move.
