Gridania was my starting city and I like how simple it is compared to the other 2, when I first left Gridania during the envoy quest I was like "wow wtf!?, why are theses citys so big and confusing?" Having multiple levels and floors.

Limsa Lominsa and Gridania are my favorites for a few similar and a few dissimilar reasons:
Kan-E and Merlwyb kept their cool during the Calamity cutscene, while Raubahn had his Big No moment (they also kept their cool and forethought during another scene).
Gridania has a xenophobic problem, Limsa Lominsa takes in whoever can cross the sea to her.
Limsa Lominsa often treats their beast-men unfairly (except, it seems, Qiqirn), even the times when they mean no harm. Gridania actively tries to foster an alliance with most of their beastmen (except the Ixali).
And so on. Aesthetically, I also like La Noscea and the Black Shroud more.

Limsa Lominsa.
It's location, architecture, the names of the places, the whole theme behind it. A seaside city that's a little rough around the edges (OK, more than a little), stretching over the sea with its metal and wooden bridges and stone white towers, with ships shored up along the docks spread out below. The way the white pathway along Hawkers Alley blinds you on a sunny day. The peoples that inhabit it, and some of the stuff they come out with. The seagulls and other background sounds. Its theme tunes 'I am the Sea' and 'A Sailor Never Sleeps'. The Admiral, and what she stands for. The theme of the grand company, and its gear. I just love everything about it.
Til Sea Swallows All.
OK, I had a little grumble at the end of 2.55 and switched to the Ul'dah/Flames, but I miss the island state. I tried Ul'dah, I really did, but my heart belongs to another. I'll be switching back very soon.

Camp Dragonhead cause Haurchefant

I can't flat out choose one over the other as a whole. From favourite to least in various aspects:
Layout - Ul'dah, Limsa Lominsa, Gridania
Citezenry - Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, Ul'dah
Day music - Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah, Gridania
Night music - Ul'dah, Gridania, Limsa Lominsa
Surrounding areas - Shroud, Thanalan, La Noscea
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Truth be told, if they put in large city amenities there, I would never leave Camp Dragonhead.
Limonsa consists of pirates who may or may not have sworn off piracy and are honest people.
Ul'dah is corrupt with greed and power, to the that their goddamn motto is "For coin and country!" who really can't even be assed to help out refugees because "money is their greatest asset" ...Then there's 2.55.
Gridania has no power struggle, and at worse they are xenophobic to outsiders.
...My decision is clear. The Ishgardians definitely live a much better life off dragon slaying, laughing off people who ask them for aid, sending request for aid, and getting killed by dragons by standing in front of their breath attacks.
For the Fury!
Limsa without a doubt. Both Uldah and Gridania have drab colours, but Limsa is blue and bright. Have you tried sitting on the culinarian guild's viewing platform at night looking out to the sea and the huge glowing crystal? It's amazing.

Gridania, because kan e senna, and the Dow guilds.
But mostly kan e senna.
Gridania
Not because of the forest , Not because of the wild lives
But because the leader is cute.
I've always been fairly partial to Gridania because of the foresty area. And I know it wasn't an option, but I love Coerthas. I <3 snowy areas. ^_^
