Washed-out colours/bad lighting?

Regarding the darkness at night, there are (it seems) two darkness settings for nighttime. There's the regular night that Konachibi linked a picture to earlier, and there's the "darker" night as well, which started happening back in May along with the Seventh Umbral Era event.

As for the "constant dawn mist, like a white filter over the game world," it sounds like it's just fog, lol. My colors during the day--when the sun's out, mind you--are always nice and bright.

Like I said, because it's rained in the night. You can see the rains on the pictures

This is true, but before the event I mentioned, the rain never made the sky that dark. And I've also seen that level of darkness without there being rain. A community rep already confirmed here that the disappearance of Thanalan's music is only one of the changes made in regards to the event, with the others being the excessive rain during that time as well as the random darkening of the nights.

I think it's fair to say there's nothing wrong with my display/video card. Everything is just stupidly blue at night time or a range of tan colours during the day, all blending into one. And the game's lighting is probably too sophisticated for its own good. It's not really causing me any trouble now I just think it looks a bit 'blah', but I'm glad it's not just me.

you need to get out more, there is plenty of green on the black should, purples on mor dhona..ect ect.. your in a desert zone.. dont expect shiny colors dude!

I think the problem with the shroud is that it's 99.9% green... they really could put some more colorful trees and flowers there :P
All other areas look pretty good color-wise but still lack "life".

And right now I'm standing in Camp Horizon and it's sunny and everything looks great lighting-wise.

But you know, they could do with mixing up the colours a little regarding gear. Everyone's wearing white and brown. -.-
