Problem pre-ordering Heavensward in Hong Kong, Originally From UK!

OK, I use a PC bought in the UK, FFXIV:ARR was bought in the UK, my account is on a European server, my details on Mog Station are UK. I have since moved to Hong Kong but use the same play set-up and my account details are the same as UK is still my official address.

I have tried to pre-order Heavensward from SE but I am told I am 'outside their service area'. I have contacted them twice to find out how to get around this situation but my e-mails have gone unanswered.

So here is my question - hopefully someone can help!

1) Is there a SE website that covers game availability in Hong Kong that I can pre-order it from? If so, can somebody provide the website address as my searches seem to come up with nothing.

2) If it is not possible to buy the EU version of Heavensward, or there is no SE that covers Hong Kong, can anyone recommend a website I CAN buy it from that covers Hong Kong? IF I end up having to get both FFXIV:ARR/Heavensward in the NA format to download instead, will this be compatible with my UK-born PC & can I still use my current account to play through (using my current characters etc) or will I have to restart all over again with a new account?

Sorry if the questions are a little dumb, but I am not techno-minded!

SE's direct sites will not support hong kong for the pre-ordering of heavensward, because there is a completely separate client for all of China, which is not getting heavensward yet. They actually don't even run on a subscription model, and charge for game time by the hour. They are also currently still running on patch 2.4.

You might try contacting an importer, or a friend in the UK, and having it shipped to them and then having them ship it to you.

Thank you for the reply! One of the reasons I stayed with the UK/EU set-up is because of the Chinese versions being behind everyone else!

Perhaps you know the answer to this - if a trusted friend in England logged into my account from England, and purchased the pre-order, then gave me the activation code to use from here, would I be able to download Heavensward that way? After all, I have no problems playing, updating etc from here, it's just actually buying Heavensward to obtain the code initially I seem to be struggling with! For some reason, SE do not seem interested in answering that question!

While being against the ToS, under sharing of account information, Technically it would work. However, you would have to give him two separate passwords, because after he tried logging in, the system would detect the change in IP address and put a security lock on your account until you reset the password to a different one. Then, when you got your account back, you would need to change the password again.

Thank you so much! Yes, I understand the ToS thing, but for the space of a few minutes I would take that chance. It's either that or SE lose my subs because if I can't play HW then I stop playing.

I am used to the password lock-out thing - from Hong Kong I regularly hop over to Cambodia/Singapore etc & take FFXIV with me on my laptop, and everytime I have to reset the password. Thank you so much for the help & advice, I really appreciate it!
