I hope we get to transfer the stats somehow, cause I spent 15 mil on my weapon and still havent capped det and crit. (I failed 9 IV materia in a rowCustomized stats is a weak argument imho. My relic is capped Spell Speed and Det. I could deal with capped Spell speed and accuracy and work around gear and just do fine. We can also assume new relics will either have perfect stats for the job or weak stats again. One reason the made it customizable I feel was because you had relics like Scholar and Summoner that does not appreciate spell speed. It was pointless to get relic compared to end-game raid weapons. Unless you don't raid.
Also, can someone confirms stats customization will have an impact on 3.1 relic? To me, it sounds like it might be used as a catalyst to fuel a brand new weapon that will replace a catalyst you'd have to grind normally.)

The problem is I highly doubt we'll keep our stats customization. It is unfair for new players that joined the game in Heavensward to have a relic with none min-max stats compared to other players that can. I find it really hard also to give the exact same item to a player that used his Zeta to keep his customed stats and another that didn't use a Zeta.
I think it's just an item to avoid you grinding other items. This is why I'd appreciate to gain something that is just prestige. I don't want to have an unfair advantage that will make me better but something to display I worked to get my relic.
This is an issue also, new jobs just won't use a Zeta for their weapon.
When relic was first introduced noone knew how it would end.
Me personally i dont care if the weapon becomes nothin but a glamour piece.
But if all we get after spending millions of gil and countless hours into it is a "easier" start to the new relic grind then i will feel very sad indeed and most likely wont be going for the next relic.
This is the main issue, why invest in yet another relic? If you're just going to take a dump on the months of grinding any millions of gil sunk into it, only to completely make your efforts obsolete? This pretty much magnifies the fact that the relic quest is just horribly designed. When relic was first introduced noone knew how it would end.

This hurts newer players more than anyone else, as they were not able to take advantage of "the best weapon in the game" for a reasonable period of time, and now they are stuck with a soon-to-be obsolete weapon, with no refund of investments.
I'm sorry, you aren't entitled to be supremely advantaged till the end of times in this game. This is the main issue, why invest in yet another relic? I don't see the few people who cleared Turn 5 complaining that their hard earned Twintania progression when no one knew how to do Twisters was made pointless by subsequent turns and new gear.
Get used to the fact you can't buy/grind your way into permanent advantage.
Completely missing the point. This isn't hurting veteran players who have millions of millions of gil and had there relic weapon since the beginning since they already got a return on investments for using the best weapon in the game.I'm sorry, you aren't entitled to be supremely advantaged till the end of times in this game.

I just hope that anything in the future is linked to worthwhile challenges over meaningless grinding of low level stuff to increase your ilevel to the max, which is confusing. We went from fun/challenging boss fights to face rolling trash mobs.
Also to your point, the feeling you are going through right now has happened to quite a few of us multiple times over the last couple years, it's disheartening and I hope they really fix the overall system.
Maybe with them finally getting ahead of the game, they can do more on oversight.
An old Example is Savage Blade and Skull sunder being pld/war cross class. never would you use them, but then keen flurry is lancer and yea we dont get to play with that misplaced skill.
The title will not be optainable elsewhere, it's a part of getting a Zeta.
Also you get a nice glamour item. I'd rather have a pretty weapon glamour that not many people will have years from now than a relic continuation, honestly.
Thing is, more than half of the zodiacs zeta dont look as good as nexus. Perhaps its just my personal opinion but... I turned in my nexus spairai for the weapon damag and stats, otherwise i would have kept the nexus
Life becomes death becomes new life. As it should be.
You are either delusional or an actual saint. I worked my ass off for my first Zeta, and after swearing up and down that I wouldn't do another, I'm well on my way to a second. Damn right I want all that work I did to count for something tangible on the next upgradeable weapon questline. It's a totally fair advantage and I earned it!
Even though I didn't do it myself, I will be legitimately crying for all the maxed Crit/Det relic holders out there if all that Gil sunk becomes meaningless. At the very least, keeping the i110 allocations but having to meld more up to the new item level seems only right.
But no point whining when we still don't know what the bonus is, just that there is one.
