The title will not be optainable elsewhere, it's a part of getting a Zeta.
Also you get a nice glamour item. I'd rather have a pretty weapon glamour that not many people will have years from now than a relic continuation, honestly.

You are either delusional or an actual saint. I worked my ass off for my first Zeta, and after swearing up and down that I wouldn't do another, I'm well on my way to a second. Damn right I want all that work I did to count for something tangible on the next upgradeable weapon questline. It's a totally fair advantage and I earned it!
Even though I didn't do it myself, I will be legitimately crying for all the maxed Crit/Det relic holders out there if all that Gil sunk becomes meaningless. At the very least, keeping the i110 allocations but having to meld more up to the new item level seems only right.
But no point whining when we still don't know what the bonus is, just that there is one.
This is silly. I made a full crit/det relic and only spent maybe 2,000,000 on materia (This is when crit IV and det IV were both going for 600,000-700,000). You just have to spend your timedollars crafting and spirit bonding.

I don't know if anybody else has replied to this, but I'm going to say something. It's not unfair to new people just joining with Heavensward. Because they can go back and do the relic quest. From my understanding all the steps are getting nerfed anyway. So it will give you something to do 50-60. I think it's more unfair to those who have put the time and gil into the relics. People who put millions of Gil into stats on a relic deserve to keep those stats. If you want bonus stats, do a relic. If you don't care for the extra boost then don't worry about it.The problem is I highly doubt we'll keep our stats customization. It is unfair for new players that joined the game in Heavensward to have a relic with none min-max stats compared to other players that can. I find it really hard also to give the exact same item to a player that used his Zeta to keep his customed stats and another that didn't use a Zeta..

For those using the "it's unfair to new players" card, how is it unfair? It's not.
By that token, it's "unfair" for new players that all of us from 1.0 and 2.0 have all our Jobs to Level 50.
It's "unfair" for new players that all of us that maxed out Crafting have all 50's in Crafting and Penta-Melded Crafting Gear.
It's "unfair" to new players that we start out with Final Coil of Bahamut gear and weapons.
It's "unfair" to new players that we have all of the Primal Mounts and Kirin. And all the Minions.
That argument is ridiculous.
New players are simply that: New. They are welcome to play FF XIV, and start earning / unlocking content, just like we did.
They can *easily* nerf the Relic Quest up until Zeta (simply steps, up the drop rates, reduce Light grinding requirements), and still retain the *feel* of unlocking and earning a Relic Weapon of vast power.
But to completely throw away the Relic (which was always a weapon that grew in strength and upgrades every few patches) is a complete slap in the face for all players who did the grind.
Yoshi P, I hope you reconsider the stance and seriously consider the enormous amount of time, gil, grind players have put in for these weapons in 3.1.
Thanks.
I don't see the problem with new players having non minmaxed stats if they are given the option to fix it with a new sphere scroll later, like the current relics.

I don't think it'll be so bad. To be fair, implementing a shortcut for people who did the first Relic was a bit of a surprise for me, and I don't think it's something they had to do. It's a gift, and I think that's good enough.

youre a bit late to complain about this. the problem is simply : LEVEL CAP RAISE = FULL RESET. thats it. if you dont want a relic quest to stop or end you HAVE to not make level cap raises. a raise needs to be a reset. otherwise new players get fucked over completly by it. blame blizzard for inventing this BS system of cap raises. before wow many mmos never raised thier cap and it went well. what a suprise. level cap raises actually are lazy design and create the illusion of progression while in fact they are resets.
Blizzard? FFXI implemented a level cap raise (2002) before WOW was even announced (2004), so I don't know why you blame wow.youre a bit late to complain about this. the problem is simply : LEVEL CAP RAISE = FULL RESET. thats it. if you dont want a relic quest to stop or end you HAVE to not make level cap raises. a raise needs to be a reset. otherwise new players get fucked over completly by it. blame blizzard for inventing this BS system of cap raises. before wow many mmos never raised thier cap and it went well. what a suprise. level cap raises actually are lazy design and create the illusion of progression while in fact they are resets.
