Client keeps crashing randomly-NOT nVidia drivers

My PC FFXIV:ARR client crashes about 5-10 times a day in the 2 hours I play. It doesn't matter where my character is, wether it be a dungeon or in the world or in a city, I always get the same error:

Positive it's not your nVidia driver? There was a new nVidia driver released just yesterday. 5/18/2015. Even if you've updated, the update can go wrong.

Not saying this is your problem but there's a good chance this was your most recent change.

I'm quite confident it's not a nvidia driver issue, as the crashes have been happening since I've owned the game, just not as frequently, and nvidia's gone through dozens of drivers since the game was released. I've run memtest, 0 errors, and SSD Life, drive is 100% healthy.

Do you tab in and out of the game? Mine plays fine, but if I tab out then back in I am on borrowed time and it crashes.

How I wish there was a definitive resolution for this. If it is all about alt tabbing I am gonna be pissed. Bought a new computer cause my i5 died.

    New on is a i7 4790 16GB Ram with a Nvidia 970 card.

Thing has given the the ffxiv.exe has stopped working too many times to count now. Have downgraded video drivers a couple times.

Gonna take it back and see if a different one has the same isssues

"Super Clocked"....may need to be down-clocked a smidge. Not uncommon to see these over clocked models have issues for various reasons...they test fine under ideal conditions, but those conditions are not the typical end-user environments. Could be warming up a tad too much or not getting quite enough power when the system is under heavy loads like with XIV. This game is poorly optimized and stresses all your subsystems at once, drawing a lot of juice from the power supply and generating a lot of heat.

Try scaling all clocks (CPU, RAM, GPU, VRAM) down to their reference levels and see if things improve. Then you can start raising things incrementally to improve performance and strike a balance between performance and stability.
