Usually everything is exactly how I imagined it beforehand...

And as I've always said, it's often too late to complain after the fact. Yoshi himself said they had one chance to change the battle system. Many people didn't like it, but they are never going to change it again. Because they only had one opportunity. So complaining AFTER the fact is oftentimes much more futile than complaining before.

It's not difficult to predict the future. Well, that is to say, it's not difficult to speculate on the information they give us and then form opinions on that basis.

Its allright, let them wha wha wha until it gets implemented. Life will goes on, patch will gets implemented, majority will be happy and they will be unheard of again after patch, it has always been this way, and this will probably also be the same.

Essentially. I was just hoping we could skip the whining phase this time around. I can't wait for them to be done with the huge changes so people can forget about how things used to be and just play the game.

It's still never really been stated that jobs will be completely locked to certain stuff. Yes they'll be locked with certain types of armour or weaponry, but that's not really any different to what it is at the moment anyways, you can't be an archer with a sword, because that makes you a Gladiator.

As for skills, I doubt they'll prevent players from adding skills that aren't relevant to a job/role, so you'll probably still be able to equip Fire II if you're a Paladin or Cure II if you're a Thief. You're still as customisable as you were before, but your role in battle has a more defined purpose. Jobs will probably just add extra mechanics ontop of what we already have as classes, so for instance a Thief will gain poisoned weapons, DoT's or (dare I say it) combo points. you're still essentially a Pugilist, or whatever a Thief is the class defined job of, but with pink frills and extra bling.

Actually this has been confirmed in a Dev post about 2-3 months ago stating 1-job to 1-class => to 1-weapon and that skills will be very specific on what you can equip while in a Job role

Aww, so people can't make a tanky DD healer that can solo every NM in the game anymore? What a shame. :3

Funny you say that considering THM was previously able to solo all sorts of NMs while hardly using abilities from other classes. It's not the hybrid nature of the game that makes this possible, it's the design of the player abilities and the NMs we fight.
That's what needs to be tweaked rather than giving the player less freedom. However, giving the players less freedom makes it easier to design content that isn't so easy to clear so from a lazy dev's standpoint I can easily see how this would be the way to go!

I do like the system proposed by the OP but I also don't have much issue with what we're getting now either as long as in the future the classes can switch to multiple jobs.
Hopefully at the very least every class gets an offensive role, a defensive role and a support role. Like, how Gladiator is getting Paladin now, hopefully their next job would be something offense-oriented. But that's just what I picture now, maybe they'll somehow come up with something even better.

Except that was never the result of anything other than broken abilities and was the result of staying within one class. So would you care to keep illustrating the fact you are either out of touch with the game or do not play it?

A friend in my linkshell quite often takes on NM's by himself using Gladiator as his base class then mixing and matching a variety of spells and abilities from other classes to make himself nigh unkillable, at least for a duration of time before his MP slowly begins to simmer away, it's not a cheat, it's not an exploit, it's all within the games rules and boundaries. It's quite an amazing sight to behold and sometimes the fights can really drag on, but at the same time it's kind of shame that such a thing is do-able on your own instead of being a group activity, since NM's are sort of like 'world bosses'.

With the way jobs will more strongly dictate roles for classes, my friend won't be able to do that with new NM's, but he's gratefull for it because he'll enjoy the challenge of at least TRYING to solo one, or be happy of the fun we'll have taking one down as a group.

Well 1 job to 1 class (for now). That doesn't mean that jobs can't get their own weapon type for use while the job is equipped, just saying. We don't know enough details yet. I mean how would you weapon lock the jobs that come from multiple classes (as was stated in the famitsu interview not too long ago)? The potential is there, the information given hasn't explicitly stated that each job is locked to the weapon of the class it comes from.
