It also helps to have enough gil around that you wouldn't care about losing a bit of money.. It's not like the 4 star recipes will be a great money maker for ya, just checking my retainer today, I sold 400 hq horn glues overnight (admittedly, that doesn't happen everyday) Since about a month ago, I've stopped selling any end-tier items on MB, there's just too many people there and I really don't want to babysit my retainers anymore.. So I just play middle man now, more time spent crafting, but less time spent checking prices.

I'd just suggest you build up a bankroll, it gives you such a peace of mind when you're not so worried about losing some gil and that in turn, makes crafting that much easier.

If you are doing your master book with your Artisan tool, you could technically choose to finish synths @ 38% for the tokens. 8 synths with 38% HQ chance, odds are you'd wind up with 3 HQ (insert bad RNG comments and anecdotes here).

If you are still in crafting progression, it makes zero sense to do your lucis before the master II books. If only because you are losing out on the ability to absorb 5 NQs from "failures" while trying to get yoru HQs. Maybe the lucis will buy you one less progress step (maybe?), but the extra control? Not really going to help all that much for this. The extra control doesn't increase Hasty Touch success chance. And that's usually what it all boils down to. The quality increase per hit would help, but 10 IQ stacks with a lucis wouldn't be better than 11 IQ stacks without.

Yep, this is true. I'd personally recommend getting those master books before the supra.

The control boost from the lucis isn't enough to make 4* crafting significantly easier. However, when it comes to the master book tokens, it'll turn those 30-40% HQ chances into 60-65% instead. It seems that the difference between 33% and 65% is only 400 quality. Judging from the numbers I've seen, I think that the lucis tools may have been designed with this in mind. It's a nerf for the master book tokens, not 4*.

Yeah once you get some good rotation strats down it doesn't take long at all.

9 days into patch I had all eight DoH Lucis and all three DoL Lucis. And some people even beat my pace, because they were crazy rich and bought their seals to get fast moonstones, heh.

I'm excited to see what kind of craziness we'll encounter once 3.0 hits.. Too bad I can't participate in the mad rush But it'll still be fun to see MB get some life
