Coul...Could we have a Role-play forum?

+1 for a roleplaying forum.
I would personally enjoy reading other people's stories.

I do actively use the Lodestone blogs already, but having something on the forums would be a nice addition.

The unfortunate thing about the Lodestone blogs is that not everyone will see it, versus a forum where there will be post that everyone can see.

I think FFXIV should re-invent itself as a purely role playing game . Like where you had to roleplay to play. That would be epic.

I know that sounds crazy, but FFXIV acutally possibly probably does have a better chance at being some kind of social simulator/ virtual world instead of an "MMO" in the typical sense.

Yes but there not in Beta stage they still fixing and asking players for info on the game. Maybe when the game goes p2p and PS3 release you would see offtopic forums.

I think one of the reason they give was they did not want to have so many GM working on the offtopic forums making sure they following the rules atm when they only trying to focus on the game. They want everyone on the forums to stay on topic about info about game that was the main goal of Forums at least what isee for now.

technically the forums were specifically given to us because SE was ridiculed by the entire public as well as other game companies for not having them. they didnt even want to add forums for FFXIV at first but people were astounded they were still not going to add them.
i remember reading developers talk about other games lacking basic features such as forums and that they felt they had the upper hand because they were closer to their costumers than "a company or two we all know".

SE has always held the notion that forums should be left up to fansites and to be rest assured their people are watching them.

so i guess my point is that the forums may have a specific purpose but if there are threads about pictures of ourselves and fan art and the likes all of which do nothing for actual game development, then it wouldnt hurt for a role play thread.
just fyi, i do not role play.

I can care less if they add it more power to the people just saying what i know what SE have post.

True i think the forums was a bad idea getting to much info form the players is bad but not getting anything is bad also but for me if feel that most of the game is becoming what players what in some from.

I hope a dev post on monday maybe they can add the forums sometime this week.

That was kinda Tanaka's idea...the whole sandbox thing.
