It's a decent tradeoff for the freedom and being able to focus all your leves in 1 class, which is perfect for low-time players,the intended audience of the system and the revamps.

Since you can solo grind or grind with a small party it's not as large of a time sink, either, especially since they intend for you to level off of enemies the same level/around your level so it would be easier to find appropriate enemies around the aetheryte areas. If they make it rewarding enough the people that have time to play will play even when they have no leves, I know I will.

As said, it is only a decent tradeoff for some. People who do nothing but leves and/or people who did all 8 regional and 8 local will find themselves with less to do. 16 leves every 36 hrs was just fine for low-time players as well. Unless they plan to increase sp gains of all class types, Overall sp for those people will drop. Hopefull the 'Leve History and evaluation' bonus thingy they have planned will involve more than just a mark/gil reward increase if they still go through with the reduction.
