    [dev1061] The First Person Problem

So, I know it's not really going to be a priority. It's not even really a serious problem I suppose. But is there any chance we can get the devs to Pull the first person view camera back a little so we can at least see our weapon and our arms in combat.

Personally, I love to walk around the world in first person mode because it just makes everything look so much cooler when it's in proportion. But the second you enter combat it it basically unusable.

-You can't really tell if you weapon is drawn
-You can't tell when you swing your weapon
-You can't see your really cool weapon skills
-You can't see any reaction from your charcter when they defend against attacks

I know it's not game breaking or anything but it is a little depressing. I mean, this is something that was implemented in basic games ten years ago. I don't understand why the MMO industry has failed to bring first person view to the forefront of the genre.

-It doesn't seem like it would be difficult to implement since it is mostly a camera positioning issue
-It would be a simple feature that makes this MMO stand out in the genre
-It would prepare the game to be ready in the chance that eye wear style displays take off, which is essentially an inevitability
-It has the chance of making combat significantly more engaging
-It pulls players deeper into the world by allowing them to feel like they are in the game

Essentially, I can't see any realistic draw backs to setting up first person view in a more dynamic and interactive way. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong but IMHO I believe this small adjustment could get a surprisingly large and positive response from both the current community as well as new players.

Thanks for hearin' me out! ~.^v

Idk how I really feel about this thought lol. I use to play XI zoomed in closer to my character but after geting ambushed a bunch of times due to respawn pops or accidental AOEs and just plain not having that peripheral view, I moved my camera angle back in order to compensate for these short comings. I think if they were able to impliment what we as human beings at times take for granted and that's peripheral vision, your idea may be extremely cool to experience!

As for the other reasons to post your thoughts in regards to not seeing your actions basically, it may seem that the overall aspect would be easy to impliment but I think in actuallity, recoding all of that may be more intensive then us non-programmers may believe. I say this only because of other forums/posts I have read not just in XIV or XI but in Aion as well where actual programmers and game designers have always stated, it's more difficult then we think to "easily change" the things we personally would like to see. You're right though, it's not priority but if they could added it and create that sense of peripheral vision so we can "sense" or see those mobs you usually can not, then it could be a neat experience.
