Doing a WoD run yesterday, had a tank decide to use "pro tactics" on the first boss, floating eyeball.

He snagged the boss as everyone arrived, and pulled it to the wall. After the first fire/water floor move, he turned it 180 degrees. This lead to several people getting shot with the cannon move, which is more than half the HP of your average caster in WoD. He also pulled to the middle of a quadrant for the spinning finger, which led to a couple more issues. First, facing away from the wall the cannon shot went through 2 of the 4 clocks. Second, when the finger stopped on his quadrant, he had to move dramatically to reposition.

First try, another tank voked and ran it to the center, causing more confusion and a quick wipe. Second try, healers got blown up by cannons quick and another wipe.

In short "pro tactics" has some serious issues:
  • If you are doing something different than people are used to, explain it to them first
  • Trading convenience on a weak mechanic to make other mechanics more difficult is not good

ps - different run, but drg elusive jump from the level death/flare moves then chasing people trying to get away is funny as hell
