No offence to NA/EU servers but..... is it normal for the 1st room to take 2 minutes to clear (3.30 to 5.30 in the video)? And the entire alliance even have 6 BLMs to boot.....

In JP server (I'm in Tonberry), that first pack takes a minute tops to clear everything, probably in the realm of 30 seconds or so (Never timed it myself, but by the time my 15 seconds Presence of Mind buff ran out, the adds are probably at 10% life or so).

If that's a "normal" Sycrus Tower run.....I'm more inclined to believe KisaiTenshi on all the "epic" adventures she described in many of her posts.

Before anything else, kudos for posting gameplay. I know people love to play backseat driver and pick apart mistakes, but for what it's worth, my commentary here is intended to be constructive.

    1. Yes, that other WHM in your party was terrible. About the only thing I saw it doing in my slice of video was casting Medica II once in a while, usually when no one actually needed it. Whether they're Facebook healing or truly don't know what to do, I have no way of determining, but they are playing badly.

    2. While you are doing much more than the other WHM to assist your party, you also happen to be overhealing quite a bit with a lot of unnecessary Cures, Cure IIs, and some gratuitous Medica casts. Your party actually had a lot of healing downtime except during some specific parts where Freezes, Unholies, and add AoEs were making a dent in your low-geared DPS. There were many cases where the bad WHM's Medica II ticks would have topped someone off before they could take enough damage to endanger them; in other cases, slapping a Regen on them would have done fine. I'm a big fan of "set-it-and-forget-it" healing for DPS in non-lethal situations.

    3. Don't be afraid to toggle on CS if you're going to throw DoTs. By the time you've cast your DoTs, your CS will be about off cooldown so that you can instantly return to healing if you need to, anyway. Even lower-geared players like your party in that fight pretty much have to TRY to stand in AoEs to be killed before you're able to switch off CS and fluff them back up.
    1. It actually got worse later (that's where the screenshot came from.) They pretty much just kept casting Medica II every time it dropped off, and even THAT is overkill for most of ST.

    2. Yeah, it wasn't a great run altogether. I'm generally used to the other healer just being useless and not healing. So usually it's Cure I at 10-20% damage, Cure II at 20-50% damage, Medica when multiple targets are damaged (but I don't have time to check if they are close enough) and Medica II when a large amount of damage is incoming. Typically in ST runs, Scylla is defeated before the Pads are even activated regardless of healer DPS participation.

    3. I usually don't switch CS until there's a situation for it. That's usually because any time there's DPS opportunity the combined CS switch+ Stone II is longer than the adds HP's lasts. So instead I do Aero II+Aero consecutively to get the DoT's.

You should see some of the first trash pulls sometimes... one tank will grab one pack the other two sit there and watch, or a dps pulls a pack tanks sit there and watch. You see healers running around kiting mobs all over the place, dps focusing on different mobs and then suddenly tanking them themselves.

It's quite hilarious to watch at times.

And even if one tank grabs all the mobs chances are they will lose something to someone. Also usually will die due to none of the healers expecting it.

It's a derpraid sit on auto and hit one button. There's even the occasional wipe on the first trash... though rare it happens.

I especially love the WHMs that precast medica 2 prepull.

As for WHM appreciation. Love playing as WHM. That well timed cure 2 or properly timed stoneskin or that clutch crit cure 2 that heals a tank right back up to max from a huge hit...

Well, on the upside, at least they didn't JUST do Medica II + Regen on EVERYONE, every fight, all the time, even without need... had a co-healer doing that, last night in ST while doing the weekly. This was with a group that didn't seem to get into much trouble as was. It was HoT overhealing on a grand scale. o_O I ended up just DPSing a good chunk of the time until it was needed. They seemed a little adverse to using actual 'Cure' spells... or DPSing (seemed to prefer adding random regens over DPSing in damage down times)

And kept over-writing my SSIIs and protects repeatedly, after I'd already applied them. *Twitch* I just let them do the buffs, after a few times. As if their WHM buffs were better than any other WHM buffs >_> /shrug

Love them HoTs and big numbers. One shotting a tank's HP with a crit Cure II is fun.
